Replace the 2 coils on the burner . After warming up , 1 will " short " internally , opening the circuit . After the dryer cools down , completely , it will work again , until the coil warms up . Only 2 screws hold the bracket holding the coils on , Gas does not have to be turned off to replace these coils . Easily replaceable .

At start of cycle ignighter comes on and lights flame stays on first time but doesn't relight flame after first time

This is usually the dryer coils have failed. They tend to fail as they heat up. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a video on replacing the dryer coils.

Dryer runs-no heat

I had a problem once with a gas dryer that would come on, the pilot would glow and the flame would run on a shortend cycle. The coil that opens the gas valve had a short circuit that would only short out when it heated up. It would drive me crazy since it appeared to be working. The short cycle time the first time, and then maybe not at all once it was warm gave me mixed signals.

Kenmore no flame

Is this the scenario? It lights for a few cycles or maybe not at all. The ignitor glows and goes out but no flame. Comes back on then does the same thing. If so it could be failing coils (those two black cylinders on top of the gas valve assembly). There's a kit that includes both and it's a fairly simple job.
