During the rinse cycle, our GWL 11 US Fisher & Paykel washer, starts beeping continuously and stops the washer. If you try to restart it at the current cycle, a burning smell is present. You can try to shut the washer off and get the washer to cool down, then restart just to get the water out of the washer.
I realize I have to either repair it, or replace it, but right now I'm just trying to get the water out of the washer, so we can get it out of our house.
Q: What is the most likely source for the burning smell? The motor?
After reading more and more about Fisher & Paykal, it seems they aren't a very reliable brand, and I will not be purchasing another one of their products. Consumer Reports does not give them good reviews and they are listed as one of the most repair prone washers that exist.
The problem is in the pump, so it will not pump out, you will need to find another way to empty it, removing the agitator will make the job easier.
When you get the water out the pump can be accessed from underneath, it turns anticlockwise to remove it,.
I would buy a new pump as it is most likely that is all that is wrong with it.
