You need to know the maker of your display card in the laptop. Once you have that information you can visit their site and download the appropriate diverrs for your adapter. Pess "Start" and goto "help and support" ->'use tools to view.....->'advanced system information'->view detailed system information'->'components'->'display'.

The name of your display adapter will be displayed at the top of the list, like this..>.Name Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series.

There is a transparent column on my toshiba p105-s6084 screen. is there an easy fix? Or, do i have to buy another screen?

If the problem is also on an external display then maybe Windows Side Bar is loaded with no gadgets.
Otherwise a replacement screen is the answer.
See ebay for prices and availability.

I did a restore on my toshiba satellite and now i cannot connect to the internet wireless or through wire. it keeps saying internet explorer cannot display the web page.

Check your device manager in controll pannel and see if your network drivers are installed.

if any components show up in device manager with a yellow exclamation mark, you will have to install drivers for them.

If they show up with a red X, just right click and try to enable them.

No HD audio on Toshiba Satellite under Win XP Pro; Vista works OK

You almost have it correct. There is one more patch you must install before SP32646.

Read about kb888111.exe file from
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111/en-us

But kb888111.exe is not available at that link. It is here:
http://geekswithblogs.net/lorint/archive/2006/06/11/81540.aspx Then re-install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (SP32646), and finally install the Conexant High Definition Audio Driver
