sounds like the broken latch is your problem.yes you can buy a latch assembly and fit .broken latch does not activate micro switch so it is like having the door open.hope this helped you let me know

YOU CAN TRY REMOVING THE GLASS TRAY AND TURNTABLE AND REPLACING IT WITH YOUR OLD GLASS TRAY (IF YOU HAD ONE) OR JUST ANY GLASS MICROWAVE TRAY. WITHOUT THE TURNTABLE, I CAN'T SEE HOW IT CAN ROTATE.
