Factory radio is locked

If it's a factory theft lock GM radio, you can find procedures on youtube

if you have owner manual it's all explain. but for the radio you need the code to unlock. if you don't know the code . you will have to go to GM Dealer to retrieve factory code to unlock

If your car came with an owners manual the instructions should be in there to unlock your radio. However if someone reprogrammed your radio with a code other then the factory code you may need to take your car into the dealer to have it reset. This will run you around $60. if you replaced it with a factory radio i think you have to reprogram the key fobs with that radio with the radio off press and hold the display button for 6 or 7 seconds untill a menu screen comes up then scroll with the left seek button untill key fob screen shows up press and hold lock and unlock on the key fob at the same time and that should do it there should be some more detailed instructions in your owners manual

sounds like you need to take your vehicle to a certified mechanic this possibly be in your ignition switch and as for your factory radio it proably has a built in anti theft detterant in case someone was to steal it it would be useless to the thief. your local dealer can reprogram your radio by codes from chevrolet

Take the radio to your GM dealer and go to the service department. They will be able to figure out the unlock code in less then 5 minutes and, at least when I had them do it, didn't charge me a dime.
