2005 thats not old & compressor should be fine. Have the thermostat control checked first, if it is not that it is possibly the capacitor on the start relay at fault. Can you tell me what gas is in the system, and the numbers on the side of the compressor.

My serpentine belt broke on my chrysler 300 yr 2005 eng 3.5 i was told air compresser seized is there any way i can fix it without replacing compresser

You might be able to use a shorter belt and not go around compressor pulley. Use a length of string to get a rough idea of what belt you need.

I want replace compressor. Compressor number ND52LABM

to replace the compressor you will need specialist equipment including an oxy set, pressure gauges and a bottle of refrigerant
the cost of replacing the compressor make a new fridge very attractive , as you will be told by fridge mechanics
just be very sure because a lot of apparent compressor problems are attributed to the start /run capacitor failure
I recommend a talk with a fridge mechanic to be sure before you open the system

Hi, My SIL was driving our 2003 Taurus SW when it started smoking & the power steering quit working. We were advised that the vehicle needed a new PS (serpentine) belt but hours later were told that ...

Hello, This problem can happen and whoever told you it needed a different compressor was correct.
Your A/C must have made noise or stopped worked for some length of time. There are a couple of ways to fix this, depending on how you fix it, will greatly affect the cost.

Brand new compressors are running from $190-$270. If you go online to Advance Autoparts, they are having a 25% off sale on them until Nov. 30th,2011. This would include free shipping or pickup locally. Used parts can be priced at Car-parts.com, an online used Salvage site that lists the prices upfront. They operate Nationally and ship to your door.

There are some other things that need to be done, supplemental damage costs, which include a new dryer (needed to get a warranty) and compressor oil, and recovery or replacement of Freon. I would guess the additional costs at another $300.

It is not impossible to find a Repair shop which will install the Compressor you bought separately. But it may be difficult because the Repair shops make money on what THEY BUY to install. You could specify that you want a used compressor installed and let them get it, knowing from your research of what a used compressor should cost.

Winter is coming and a company called Dorman makes a compressor bypass kit that Advance sells for $40. You could remove your broken compressor and save for the repair over Winter. I would estimate replacing the A/C Compressor for a total of $700-$800 if you have to pay someone to do everything. Less if using used parts.

I hope my solution is very helpful to you.

I have a small two-door whirlpool fridge which is the noisest fridge I have owned. Its a loud humming noise when it "clicks" on.

This sounds like the compressor is not healthy. The moving parts inside the compressor have become "tight" causing too much friction in the moving parts which you hear as a humming sound. This will gradually get worse untill the compressor completely fails.
A new compressor plus associated parts and labour will probably cost $550. It may be worth looking for a new fridge?

The compressor on my Whirlpool wbm46 fridge is cutting out on overload. The compressor is running very hot and trips on thermal overload and then restarts once cooled down. The fridge is only 3.5 years old...

Hello there:
first you might want to have the compressor recharged with refrigerant these hermatic units will over time loose some of the refrigerant and will need to be recharged and this would be a lot cheeper to do than replacing the compressor if your warranty is still good i would use it ok?

Danby 3.6 referigerator runs for 20 sec then stops. Is there a reset sequence? I had it in my truck on a rough road, I was told to turn it upside down for a bit then try again?? New but bought last year.

As far as I know, you never lay a fridge down let alone turn it upside down. The oil for the compressor will drain into the coils & such & when you turn it on the compressor will burn out quickly. If you laid it down in the truck, let it sit upright for 24 hours or so,should be ok.

Kenmore fridge, about 8 years old, making noise

The compressor on your fridge is mounted on rubber grametts and inside the dome the internal parts the do the pumping of the refrigerant are mounted on springs. When a compressor gets old some people complain about two much vibrating, this could be the rubber grommets the support the compressor. When one of the support springs inside the compressor is broken it will have a distinct rapping sound when the compressor shuts off. There isn`t anything you can do about this, short of replacing the compressor. It will eventually get worse untill something is seriously broken inside the compressor and the compressor will die. You may want to consider replacing the compressor now or purchase a new fridge. You will need to consider the cost of both and the age of the fridge" Is it worth repairing?". You can actualy find a repair company in your area from this site if you like, and compare the costs.I hope I have helped explained the problem well enough for you. I will help you as much as I can.

Not getting cold

if the rattle is coming from your compressor it would cost more to fix than the fridge is worth i'm sure. the compressor is the only moving part on the unit. the only other component is the thermostat. which you can bypass to see if it cools.
