Hooking up water line to LG LRSC26920TT - water runs great through line, but once connected to fridge, no water runs through line in fridge - no water comes out when trying to fill a glass. No water running through filter when we pull it out. Previous fridge with icemaker worked fine. Do we need a special kit when connecting the water line to this LG fridge? Previous refrigerator model - Amana.

How old are the water lines that run to the fridge? Is this a new fridge? Was the water good and now it is bad all of a sudden or is the first time using the water?

It depends on the refridgerator. Some have two inlet valves. Basically, you have a water line from the home. Usually copper line. You also will have two places for water lines on the opposite side of the inlet valve. Sometimes you may only have one. The line leading from fridge ( if ice and water through door) will hookup to the line where you have the fridge connactor. The quick connects to the inlet valve. The second one will be for ice maker. That water line runs up the back of fridge into freezer. Make sure you place the quick connects in the right spot. Process of elimination because some inlet valves wont let you change the hoses once installed. Connect the main water line from the home. Connect both quick connects dont connect water lines yet. Push the water thru the door botton and see which valve opens on the inlet. Which valve on inlet opened and allowed water to come out. That is for fridge and other is for icemaker.

My fridge was hooked up with a self tapping fridge line. I had two different plumbers/repairmen tell me that if the water flow ever slowed I should switch it to a dual line water shutoff, with one going to the sink and one going to the fridge. I did this and it more than solved my problem. The water now flows way quicker than ever.

Oh and I always had good water flow within the guidelines, as in filling a bucket with the line that goes into the fridge. It was a pretty easy fix that only involved one run to home depot. Make sure to note the size of the line that goes into your sink or even just take that hose with you.

please switch off your refrigerator for at least 8 hrs. than again switch it on. if your problem is not cured than it is sure the refrigerator has the blower problem for which the problem arrises ....... please visit your service authority...........have a nice day:-)

Most likely the pipes were disturbed a bit while remodeling, causing a particle to flow to the inlet water valve and prevent it from closing completely. You will probably have to replace the water valve part number 6877JB3053D (note, if you would have run a gallon water out the water supply tube prior to hooking the water line back up to the refrig. you would not have had this problem)

I too had to scratch my head to locate where to connect the water line for the ice maker. Looking at the rear of the frig on the bottom right you will see a white plastic cover that the black plastic line goes into. There is a screw on the right side. Undo the screw and then pry off the white plastic cover. You will see a black plastic cap over the threaded water line connector. This is where you connect you line as approprite. I hooked up the line and turned the water supply back on and then you have to turn on the ice maker. I works great. Problem is the manual is not clear at all. Guess they assumed that the installler would be hooking it up. Once you know what to do is is a piece of cake. Good Luck. Doug S. in Poland, OH
