Well. you don't lose anything when that happens.

It sounds like the powersupply of the monitor might be going out, it might be cheap to repair, possibly a capacitor in the output area or two is bad and would need to be replaced.

Those are generally 5 to 20volt capacitors with 150 to 1000 uf values.

How do i fix a monitor that sometimes just turn off by itself and turn on after being cut of the elec. power?

There are settings for the sleep (power saving) modes that came with Windows updates.
Some of our monitors also shut off the power indicator light when they go to sleep.
Solution: Check the power saving settings in Windows.

Monitor screen goes white at start up

That could be the monitor or the video/graphics card in the computer. Try another monitor as a test to narrow the problem. If it's a laptop, therer's usually a VGA port where another monitor can be installed. You might need to press a Fn key combination to turn on the second monitor in that case.

Acer AL 1912 (black) resolution issue

LCD Monitor Shadow Effect
This problem is best described as the LCD monitor "Shadow Effect".
The solution to this very simple. No software or hard ware changes required.
The cables that are connected to the LCD monitors are causing the problem. Its also called as electromagnetic noise or electrical noise.
Solution: Keep the two cables - (power cable and moitor display cable), that are connected to the LCD monitor as far away as possible with each other and also away from other electrical cables.
Thats it. Your shadow effect is fixed.

Turns off and on by itself

Ok so its connected to your pc?
check settings on the monitor itself [if you'restill able to do that]
disconnect all your usb devices restart your computer and try again.

Is it in a cold room ? that might be the problem.

Is it in the same powerbar as your computer ?
I'm not sure but if your power outlet where you connect it is simply looped to the rest that are in use [lazy electrician] then it might turn off because a power shortage.

Good luck

Compaq FP 7317 LCD Monitor

Check the buttons on your monitor for possible shorts. Sometimes pressing a sequence of buttons while turning the monitor on will lock the OSD.

TV signal lost

Have you had a look at the cords? Is there any damage to the hardware itself? Maybe there is something else wrong. Tried running virus scans? I know it's a long shot but it's amazing at what viruses do to your machine.
