This was used as a mobile tool business computer. It did not have xp or the internet. Basically it was stripped down in order to run their program. Now I want to use it as a pc so I had xp put back on it and had all the mobile tool stuff taken off. Before when it was used for the business the touchscreen worked now it doesn't. I would ask the man who did the work but he was killed a few months ago in a motorcycle crash. I just got the computer back from his estate today.

What does updated mean? Hardware or software or operating system?

That means the mother board disk has probably not been installed yet. You will need the mother board disk or the install software for the computer.
You will need to register with Panasonic to get your software. This is a commercial product so you will have to provide a valid serial number.

In the reply I sent you, there is a link 'register with Panasonic'. Click on it. it will take you to Panasonic. The software you need will be DOWNLOADABLE after you create an account with Panasonic. You will then have to download the software to a computer and burn the software to a CD disk (it becomes the 'Motherboard Disk'). Place the disc in the cd rom drive on the laptop and run each piece of software you downloaded. There will be video drivers, network drivers, audio and touch screen (I hope).
You may need to ask a knowledgable friend for help.

Touch screen doesnt work on my cf-29

Your Model CF29NWQGZBM the letter "W" indicates that this is a T/S (TouchScreen) Model.

Please verify that the "TouchScreen" is "Enabled" under the BIOS. I recently purchased about a dozen CF29's where there were absolutely NO scratches on the LCD. The reason WHY was because the TouchScreen had been DISABLED at the BIOS level.

I can also share with you another experience I had recently. I purchased approx. 15x CF29 models and every single unit had a defective TouchScreen. When I called Panasonic Canada I was told that since the units were no longer under the three year manufacturer warranty there was nothing they could do about it but that they were aware of this defect and it was a known defect.

I hope this information helps.

Regards from an authorized Panasonic Toughbook Dealer located in Montreal.

Is a digital flat panel monitor a touch screen

No, for a screen to be touchscreen it must have a digitizer on it. By the sounds of your description it is just a standard flat panel screen

Touch screen dose not work on my CF-30

If your Toughbook has an integrated GPS, this may be conflicting with the touchpad or touchscreen driver. You can fix this by running the GPS Registry Patch - SKIPENUM.REG, which is found in the C:\UTIL\GPS\ folder. This file can also be found by following the link below.

If you are using a GPS module that is not integrated, you should contact the manufacturer of the GPS module for a similar patch.

If you are not using a GPS module, or if the above steps do not fix your problem, re-install the touchpad and/or touchscreen drivers.

Touch screen dose not work

The CF-30 is equipped with a resistive touchpad. It is designed to be more rugged and last longer than a capacitive touchpad. Applying pressure and keeping your finger on the pad longer while you move your pointer will help with speed. Pointer speed can also be adjusted under mouse properties in the Control Panel.

Find the complete model number on the bottom of your laptop 'CF-30XXXXXXX' and locate the correct driver by following the link below. Once you've downloaded the correct driver, extract the file to a new folder and run the Ftsetup file. (accept all default settings). You may need to restart the Toughbook.

Try reinstalling the touchpad and/or touchscreen driver.

Model: Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 I changed OS from Win XP to Win 7 & was able to get most of the drivers from panasonic BUT the touch screen is giving me a problem. Comments: Apr 18, 2010 -...

Hello,

Okay, have you tried updating your system, usually, when update is done, drivers are also updated.

You can try the system update first and see if that would make any difference.

Let me know what happens next after you have done the update.

Good luck.
