First thing you can do is to try reverting cam back to factory settings.to do that initialize the camera.it's under menu>setup settings>main settings1>initialize. after initializing, set cam to auto adjustment mode (green camera icon in mode dial). what to avoid when taking pictures:
1.subject too close (use macro if needed)
2.insufficient light
3.subject movement
4.camera movement (that's caused by you)
5.incorrect camera setting
5.incorrect camera operation
btw, before you take a picture, press the shutter button halfway down first to give the cam ample time to focus.you'll see a flashing green indicator on the screen that means cam is focusing.when the indicator stops blinking cam is ready for the shot.press shutter button all the way.review your picture.if still blurry, you may try changing iso (for dark or fast moving subject, note:the greater value the noisier the picture gets), metering mode and focus settings by going to the shooting menu (press menu when your in P or program mode). hope this helps.tnx:)

Blurry pictures after I have had no trouble in the past

If this is happening only in low-light situations when the flash is not on, check your manual to turn the camera's high-sensitivity feature on. Or change the ISO to the highest setting (1000 is good) for these pictures. That should reduce blur and shake. Of course, putting the camera on a tripod or beanbag, or resting your elbows on a solid surface, will have the same effect.

My daughter tries to take pictures with her Sony Cyber-shot S650, but all she gets are blurry pictures. What can she do to fix the problem. She has been taking pictures all along with no problem.

She may have shut off the automatic setting for the flash. This will cause blurry shots in darker areas. See if her pix outside in day light are okay. If so, the main wheel on the back of your Sony (I believe it's the top of the wheel) controls the flash. Be sure that is set to on or automatic. Let me know.

Sony cyber-shot dsc-w200 taking blurry pictures in auto mode...

Its due to slow shutter speed setting.
If you want to take moving object picture, set high speed shutter, there would an icon of golf stick that is for moving object pictures.

what's probably happening is this: Since the light is low, the shutter must remain open for a relatively long time. If you're hand-holding the camera, you'll get blurry shots. Using a tripod will eliminate this. It doesn't typically happen outdoors because there's usually enough light to permit very fast shutter speeds (>60th of a second or so). Some newer cameras offer image-stablization for those lower-light situations. The camera or lens makes very quick adjustments to compensate for your moving when taking a shot. Hope this helps! Best wishes

Picture Blurry on the Sony DSC-T1

Put it on a tripod, and don't move it until the picture is captured. At the very least, hold it steady for several seconds after you press the shutter button. You are probably moving it while the shutter is still open recording the image. Digitals do this in low light situations. I frequently get caught by this because I think 'Click. I'm done. Move on.'
