My Acer some how got locked up in the CMOS. Need Password.

If this occurs on a Window-based PC prior to seeing the Windows Start screen, it most likely means that someone has entered a System Password into the CMOS/BIOS that requires entry before the system will boot. If your CMOS/BIOS was not password-protected anyone who had access to the machine would be able to enter the CMOS and set up such a password, effectively locking you out. Of course, it they did not put a password on the CMOS itself, you may be able to enter the CMOS yourself and remove the password, as long as you do not have to know it to remove it. If you MUST know the password, you may have to do a CMOS reset to release the password. Ensure that if you do that, you know all settings in the CMOS that need to be modified from default or you may have operational issues later. If there is a CMOS password on the system as well, and you did not place it there, someone is messing with your head.

CMOS does not have a factory default password. If there is a password, some person added it to the computer and you would need to ask them what the password is.

Try to leave it blank and hit Enter or if is not work,you need to manual reset your cmos battery to remove the password. feel free to ask.

There's no way that we can determine the BIOS password of your laptop. But if you can disassemble your laptop and locate the CMOS battery you can remove the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS together with the password. After resetting the CMOS battery you will no longer be asked to enter a password for the BIOS when you turn on your computer. However, there are instances that even though you reset the CMOS it's still asking for the password, for this concern, the computer manufacturer should deal with this concern.

YOu can reset bios password with 2 method.
(1) open back cover of laptop then find motherbord .Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 15 minutes then again put it in it's position .then it not ask for password.
(2)You can clear password with jumper settings find jumper on motherbord named clear cmos it has 3 pin .1-2-3
Put jumper in 2-3 position then again put it in 1-2 position then check .

Sounds to me as if there is a power on password set, can you get into the bios? try pressing <delete> or F2, if it asks for a password then you will need one to access the CMOS, within the CMOS is an Administrator password as well as a power on or user password, those have to be cleared in order to boot or the proper password entered at start up in order to continue the boot process

for that you need to open back cover of laptop .
Then find motherbord there.
Pull CMOS cell from motherbord for 10 minutes then refix it .
Also you can clear cmos with jumper find jumper near cmos cell named "clear CMOS " it has 3 pin
Set jumper i 2-3 position then power up 1 time then again set jumper in 1-2 position then it not ask for password.

Bios passworrd is stored in cmos battery....If u can remove the cmos battery and insert it again...bios will not ask for password..its a small silver color battery in motherboard....

Try to reset the CMOS using CMOS jumper reset. Look this in its manual how to do it.

Or take out the CMOS battery out of its socket then place it back again this should clear CMOS and restore to its default setting. Without the BIOS password.
