One morning my dvd player was working but by the afternoon when i tried to put it on for my 2year old. the disc wold not load. and then it says disc error or no disc. can somebody please help me its only 6months old. really dont feel like buying a new one. thank you.

I was having the same problem with my pvd-702...I genlty cleaned the lens with a dap of alcohol on a q-tip. I blew the lens so it was dry and the dvd player started working. No need to try to call the 1-800 number, it is disconnected and the warranties are not valid, because the address does not exist. try the q-tip, it worked for me.

your disk and player must be compatable, you cant play dvd's in a blue ray player, you cant use blue rays in a dvd player, you cant use ps4 games in an xbox and you cant put cd's in a record player... hope that helps!
Well, first I have to ask if it does load? If it does, and is not reading the disc, it will say, "no disc". DVD's in general are very touchy and the Memorex is not a high quality brand. If only 5 months old, it should still be under warranty.
You'll need to check the region code of your player.
Make sure you have no discs in the player, and unplug the unit. Plug it in and turn it on. Open, then close the tray (with no disc!) Press the Setup button, then select Load Setup Press the Enter While it it loading, press Menu. When the box appears with a number, confirm it says 1 (region code 1 = USA). If it doesn't, please change it to 1 using the Up / Down buttons. Press Enter to accept the change.
turned off the dvd recorder at power outlet. Left overnight. Turned on again in morning and pressed open/close and managed to get the dvd drawer to open. No further problems
I WENT BACK LATER, ROTATED THE DISC ABOUT HALF A TURN AND IT LOADED. TOOK IT OUT PUT ANOTHER IN AND IT LOADED JUST FINE ALSO. MAYBE IT WILL KEEP WORKING OK.

yes please help i have debuged it to the laser going to far off the disk but how to factory reset this thing i dont know
