How can I bypass the parking brake wire?

I have a Pioneer AVH-P6600 and I've tried to use a 3 prong switch in order to "turn on" and "turn off" the parking brake check wire. There is a positive prong, a negative prong, and a positive out prong. I connected the negative to the ground wire on the radio and then connected the postive to the power wire on the radio and then i connected the parking brake wire to the postive out prong. I have tried toggling it on and off 3 or 4 times and I still can't view video. Can anyone please clarify how I need to do this using the switch? Preferably using the switch I have now because I have already installed it (cut a hole in my dash to make it fit).

The parking brake wire has to connect to ground when the switch is in one position and connect to nothing when the switch is in the other position. I think if you disconnect the positive wire from your switch that might do it. If not, leave the positive wire off and try the remaining two wires, ground wire and parking brake wire, on different prongs of the switch.

Have a pioneer avh-p3100dvd, how can i make the dvd play while driving

YOU NEED TO BUY A SWITCH FROM WALMART($3), 2 OR 3 PRONG, CONNECT THE GREEN(PARKING BRAKE WIRE) TO THE POWER PRONG ON THE SWITCH AND CONNECT A GROUND WIRE FROM THE GROUND PRONG ON THE SWITCH TO ANY PEICE OF METAL ON YOUR DASH...FLICK THE SWITCH TWO OR THREE TIMES AND NOW YOU CAN WATCH VIDEOS WHILE IN MOTION.

Bypass without switch

Get a relay (4 or 5 pin) from Autozone, O-Reilly, PEP Boys, etc....
Connect wires as follows on relay:
Pin #86 - Amp remote from your radio (blue wire)
Pin #30 and #85 - to a chassis ground (metal dash bracket)
Pin #87 - to Parking brake input wire on your radio (light green)
Pin # 87a - IGNORE. It isn't used in this case.

What this will do is.....
Radio will power on when you turn your key. The amp wire is delayed slightly and will trigger the relay in a second or two. This tricks the radio into thinking your e-brake has been engaged and violla....Mine has worked everyday since I connected it.

similar but not exactly the same - for a dvd you must also connect a line to the parking brake wire that shows ground when engaged
