You need to get an up to date navi disc. There is a procedure to down grade it, so it would read the yellow disc. But it will mess up the unit if you do it wrong. Beside half of the current info won't be on the yellow disc anyway, because it is so out dated. Goodluck.

Ebay has copied version for around $15. But many of the copied discs are poor quality and malfunction after a short time. Goodluck.

Hi check your navigation disc for dust, dirt, damage.
if disc is good, you might like to try running a dvd cleaner in the unit, the avic has a fan that sucks in dust from the car, and this coates the cd lens.

we can service the unit for £45.00 plus return postage @ £10.00 (uk mainland)

Avic-n2 won't read the navigation disks...

If it play cd's but not not dvd's or navi disc then your laser is "tired" or out of alignment. If it does not play any type of disc then it needs a new laser pick unit. A capable tech should be able to re-align or replace the laser pick up unit for about $75 to $150. Contact me if you need it perfome. My number is 801-414-4566.

AVIC-N3

What kind of error message? Sound like you have a "tired"(miss aligned laser). If you be more specific and describe the details of your problem, I think I can help.
