Using this type of disc even in video or vr mode recording, it is not possible to delete the clips after finalization. unfinalizing the disc may not help.the delete option is possible only when you delete the last scene immediately from the camcorder.for reference see p.14 of the manual.so clips in between the first and last recording would not be possible to delete.an option would be to use your computer.select only the movie files that you would like to put on a disc and use your burning application for that purpose.at least you get to choose the clips you want and would have the capability of compiling it on a regular dvd disc.hope this helps.tnx:)

I need to take what i recorded and put on my computer to burn on a disk...how?

Since the camcorder records on Mini DVD+/-R and RW, and SD/MMC cards, just eject the media from the camcorder and insert it into the appropriate drive on your computer. Open the burning software of your choice (which you may or may not already own) and follow the directions for burning the files with that software. If the disks are DVD RW or SD/MMC delete the files after burning is complete. Even though the manual states that it will work with DVD-R, the camcorder seems to have issues finalizing these particular formats, so I recommend using DVD+R and DVD+RW. I hope this helps and good luck. Please vote appropriately and leave a comment.

CD/DVD will not burn DVD

Did you tell CDBurnerXP that you want to burn a CD? or to burn a DVD?

Does this happen with _EVERY_ "blank" disk that you insert, or just one disk?

Can your DVD-RW _read_ a previously-recorded CD? DVD?
If not, then that hardware is suspect.

Try using the ROLLBACK DRIVER option from the Device manager. This should fix the issue if not try updating the driver software for the DVD drive.

Disc will not finalize error comes up as e19 can not record to the disc. the show is actually recorded and will play back just not finalize. have tried -r/ +r and + rw and get the same message. unit being...

You don't need to delete timer rec programs to Finalize, Format or Erase discs!

Set the Mag 2160A (mfgd in 2009) to Source L3 (DV) using the Source button on the remote.

To Format a RW disc, set unit on L3 BEFORE inserting a new disc cuz the Formatting op is automatic and starts right away. It's also so short on a +RW (longer on a -RW) that you could think it had been Formatted.

Finalizing requires you to select it from the Disc Edit menu, so you can set the unit on L3 after inserting a disc for this op.

Can't record DVD+RW and DVD+ Disks...PLUS

Firstly, you need to finalize the -R disk recorded by and in your unit before it will play back anywhere else.

Secondly, the DMR-ES10 does not support +RW, only -RW.

Finally, I have never heard of a +D. Do you mean +R? It is likely that you have a corrupt disk; change it.

DVD/RW Recognition Issue

+/- media matters =)

make sure you're using compatible media... some cd/dvd drive will do this spinning and spit out the media they don't recognize. if you're inserting blank cd/dvd, check the lable on the disk if you're using the plus "+" then replace it with a minus "-" then vise versa...

I don't know how to delete a video clip when my disc has already been finalized. There isn't any 'delete' button that i can find. Please help me!!

If the disk is finalized you cannot delete any clips - hence the term "FINALize"

If it is a DVD-R, try unfinalizing and then deleting the clip.

Can't record DVDs

OK. Finally "solved" this problem. You must use the brand name "Maxell" DVD disks, 2x or 4x (maybe 8x). Do not use variable speed disks (e.g. 1x--4x) or 16x. Walmart carries these!

The DVR -RW 2x finally got mine to record. I didn't think this would work, but it did. I am still experimenting with it. Had to download (free) VLC player to get it to play on my computer. Works fine in other DVD players.

Credits to the Sears' repairman, the guy at F., and my patience!
