DH Channels How do I get my tv to pick up all the HD channels I do a channel search and it picks up the local channels fine just not sure if I have not set something up right so it will pick up those HD channels. I have an antenna the goes at fifty feet in the air so I do not think that would be the issue.

Hi, I live in a flat in London with a shared rooftop aerial (no idea of spec). I have a Sony KDL-46X2000. The built-in freeview tuner doesn't seem to recieve any HD channels. Is the built-in tuner the...

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

Unable to pick up local ''free'' channels following digital change over. Using RCA DTA800 converter and Phillips 2750/27 antenna. Can pick up only one local channel, but signal loss is more often the...

first of all, make sure all your connections are secure and threaded all the way in. Next, go to the main menu and press 5 (configuration) and press 1 (search for channels) if this doesn't work, press 4(signal strength meter) and see how strong your signal is. You may just need to re-position your antennae. If all else fails try system reset(number 5) and repeat search for channels. I've had similiar experiences with mine but I have a 62% signal strength and still get 20-something channels. Hope this helps.

Auto Search for Local channels not responding

Hi elmergdavis,
Check and make sure your tv is set to CABLE and not to AIR or ANTENNA. This setting is usually just above the Auto Search utility on the meNU.
Let me know what you find and I can provide further assistance.

Using an over the air antenna I get all channels but one.

I experience the same thing on a day to day basis. The key, is location of the antenna. Depending on where your antenna is located, determines if u can recieve local CBS analog v. digitial. I actually tried sticking aluminum foil to my old rabbit ear antenna legs. to my surprise, I even picked up digital channel I never knew existed. Besides, when the signal transmit in Digital, u are already prepared. Your local CBS afilliate station will be accesable on maybe 2 or 3 channels. example:

Channel 10 analog

Channel 10-1, 10-2, 10-3 digital HD will all broadcast the same programming.

hope this helps u out.

NO HDTV

There are many variables here that could cause the problem. I can receive a few local HD channels ( within about 60 miles ) on my 57H94. I am not aware of any "HD specific" settings- it's all part of the receiving circuits in the TV. The first thing I would look at is to be sure you have a secure antenna connection. Then be sure you have selected the correct antenna input on the TV (there are two). HD channels, as an example will show up as 10-1, 10-2, etc. Most TVs have different sensitivity thresholds, regardless of size. Usually digital signals, including HD, are either there or not. In most cases if a TV picks up a decent analogue signal, a digital set should receive the digital signal, including available HD channels, as well. If you are going to use an antenna, rather than cable or satellite, try to get the best antenna you can afford, that will meet your physical requirements ( indoor / outdoor,etc.). Keep in mind that not all digital TV signal are HD. All of our local stations in this area transmit a digital signal, but true HD broadcasts remain variable. I hope this has helped in some way-Good Luck!

Television only locates 7 channels????!!!!!

Hi there!
If you cannot receive all channels it may be a fault with the antenna or the tuner may be faulty. If you have a VCR, you can tune that into the TV first and then tune the VCR to see if you then receive all channels. If so, use the VCR position on the TV to view and select or change channels on the VCR only. Good Luck,JUS004
