I just changed the lamp a couple of weeks back. It was working fine. Now when I turn on the TV you can hear the signal to the lamp but it will not connect. I have sound. I get the flashing light from the on/off button. I know that means the lamp is trying to connect.
Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php Have a blessed one!

I am having the same problem with my RCA DLP TV. The bulb is only one year old and looks good. I would like to know if changing the ballast fixed your problem? Also, are the directions for changing the ballast for a Samsung work the same for an RCA TV. Thanks, LauriceI am having the same problem with my RCA DLP TV. Edwin, sounds like you might be having a problem with your Ballast. The Ballast is what fires up lamp. Typically if this is an older unit, when you replace the bulb, you will have to replace your ballast as well. It is harder to fire up a new bulb, then it is to fire up an old bulb. That's why you wouldn't notice the problem until you changed your bulb.
I would suggest it is a ballast problem. You can check supply of 5 volts to ballast's small 5 pin connector (trigger voltage) and about 300V-330V to large 2pin connector. If both voltages present at the start and lamp is working with in another TV - it is bad ballast.
It sounds like to me theat the new lamp is faulty. If there is any pieces of glass in the lamp compartment, remove them so they will not travel and get wedged in places they should'nt be.
Hope this helps,

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.
If all 3 leds blink, it can be the lamp, ballast (lamp driver), color wheel, or dmd board (all are engine parts = engine failur). its usually the lamp, but you can listen to troubleshoot. when it turns on, you will hear the fans come up (humm..airflow noise), then you will hear the colorwheel (high pitched squeel.. it will come up to speed) and then the ballast will fire up the lamp.. if the lamp doesn't fire, you will hear the spark gap fire (a 1 second buzz noise indicating bad lamp).. the gap will fire 3 times, they tv will then retry again and again until it shuts off and kicks out the error. this power up path will help you listen to find your problem. i can assist further.
if it just clicks and thats it, yeah power supply. see if the fans run and it does the boot up sequence. let it try to come up again and again. it will spit out an error code. If all three LEDs on the front panel flash, it is on the engine side. Try to power up without the lamp and hold down the lamp door switch. You can see if the colorwheel is spinning or not through where the lamp shines.. you can also hear it .. its the high pitched squeel noise you hear whir up. If the colorwheel spins, then the ballast should strike up the lamp. If you hear a 1 second buzz sound, that is usually a bad lamp. The spark gap on the ballast fires if it cannot fire the lamp.. you might be able to see it glow. The lamp can be bad but not necessarily blown. If it looks good, try tightening the connections inside the assembly, the two wires (be careful fragile, glass, mercury, etc.)
