Is there a cable that allows us to plug a laptop computor into the Pioneer DVD recorder DVR-310 for Recording and playback ? Also our recorder has trouble recording to discs, seems to be hit and miss if we get a DVD disc that actually works hence we want to plug in a hard drive somehow.

Pioneer dvr-645h

I do this all the time using -R RW discs. My Pioneer doesnt have a USB - I imagine it is only for playback. If it is for recording too, you have an option.

Will this burner work on dual layer discs?

Pioneer has released Firmware for the DVR-107D DVD Writer and DVR-A07XLA & XLB DVD Writer. This release # is 1.18.
http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/computer/firmware.html
(a ZIP file download, but uncompresses to an .EXE, as does theflashman.rpc1.org site download. I can't uncompress the EXEs with Stuffit (standard) Expander v7.0x here, but Scott said he used version 8.0.2 )
Looks like we are getting closer to Dual Layer Support:
(although some have flashed NEC ND-2500A drives to DL 2510 model firmware, I doubt that Pioneer will release an official firmware update for the 107D to add dual-layer burning. Like other mfrs, I suspect they'll sell a new drive model with DL burning support.)
For Models DVR-107D FW Version 1.18
  • DVD-R Writability Improvement
  • +R Writability Improvement
  • DVD-RAM Playability Improvement
  • CD Playability Improvement
  • +R DL DoubleLayer Playback Implemented (NOT Record)

    For Models DVR-A07XLA, DVR-A07XLB, DVR-107AXL & DVR-107BXL FW Version 1.18
  • DVD-R Writability Improvement
  • +R Writability Improvement
  • DVD-RAM Playability Improvement
  • CD Playability Improvement
  • +R DL DoubleLayer Playback Implemented (NOT Record)

Pioneer dvd recorder dvr 310

I've seen this problem somewhere before, ran across it on a service call or something and I just can't remember where.. Just getting old I guess.. You should have a "Return" button on the remote. Press it and the "2"... That should allow you to access the unit again. What you've done basically is set the unit up as unit 2 and you could have as many as 3 identical units all operating from the same remote. So, Pioneer, in their infinite wisdom decided to make three specific designation points and allow you to switch the remote to access each one without disturbing the rest... If this doesn't solve the problem you might try calling Pioneer support, 800-421-1404 and they should clearly be able to help. Good Luck Bill
