I have a push button wall switch which open/close front gate to our house. The gate occasionally open by itself. I disconnected wire to the wall button and the gate did not open by itself anymore.
So I assume the existing push button was causing the gate to open by itself and I install a new GSW-22 button. With the new button install, I again experience the front gate opening by itself. Any explanation if the new switch causing the gate to open by itself?

leave the original whites connected together, connect the new switch in series with the two black wires (one black to the top of the switch, the other to the bottom),
p.s. the switch is grounded through the mounting strap

I'm going to guide you on how to create what is known as a "switch leg".
1- run a 12-2 w/ground wire to the light fixture from new switch.
2- connect black wire "hot wire" to the shiny bronze tinted terminal on switch.
3- connect the white wire " neutral " to the silver connection on switch.
4- connect the naked copper wire " ground " to the ground terminal on switch
5- Disconnect the two white wires in the junction box from each other.
6- Connect the ground to ground in j-box
7- Connect the black to one of the whites in j-box
8- connect the white to the other white in j-box
9- wire nut and tape all connections
Oh and be sure that you turn off the breaker before you start. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I dont understand your question. However, I can tell you how to put a switch in this circuit.
You are taking power from an outlet. Run the black, white and green to the switch box. if the box is metal, you myst make a ground connection and you must ground the switch frame. The white runs straight through the switch box to the flourescent, as will the green after you make the connection to the box and the switch frame. The hot black goes to a brass screw. continue with the black from the other brass screw on the switch to the black (red) in the flourescent. Green is ground; white goes to the white wire and black to the black.
Does this help you? If not ... please reask

You could drive an inverter, you could drive a flip flop, You could pulse a relay.

There is no remote opener in the car like a garage door. However, there is handcarry remotes and wall-mounted keypad to open/close the gate. I ruled out the keypad (removed battery and gate still open by itself) and took battery out of handheld remotes (and gate still open by itself). I was also told that the random numbers generated by these remotes (Genie Brand) make it highly unlikely a neighbor's remote would generate the same number to open my gate.
As to pattern, I noticed the gate open by itself on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Also, the handcarry remotes has another button on it to open/close garage door. But the garage door has never open/close by itself like the gate.
The switch is very unlikely to be the problem. You might want to remove the switch again for a longer period to confirm that. If this gate is also operated by a remote opener in your car like a garage door opener, this probably the common problem where interference or a neighbor's remote is causing this. The interference could also be coming from kids playing with remote control toys. Is there a pattern to the time of day or day of week? Can you change the code on your opener?
