Did you install the MP3 player setup on computer at all? If you didn't and can do this, this would probably be the only way to reset it. Hope this helps.
Did you add songs to it yet? To add songs to it plug it in the your computer and import the songs to it. If it still won`t work rebuild your data base. Doing so well factory reset your Walkman and fix any bugs in your Walkman.
When you say having difficulty in adding the songs in CLIP, though you have enough space. I'd kindly request you to check for the number of songs that you have added.
Because when you add as MP3 player by default its bit rate is 128kbps so you can add up to 500 songs only. Kindly have a check on it.

Select "No Action," to avoid accidentally setting up Auto-Sync (undesirable). Then open up Windows Media Player, and use the Sync tab to transfer the songs to your Sansa. It may sound crazy, but doing it in the way I suggest will allow you to sync songs manually instead of automatically. Auto-sync will add files that you do not want into your mp3 player. Manual sync allows you to choose which songs you add to the mp3 player.
If you are using a Mac, move to trash moves the mp3 files to the trash folder on the player. I could not "see" the trash folder on the player until I plugged it into a PC and looked at the MP3 Player in Windows Explorer. On the Mac the folder didn't even show when using ls in the terminal window. If you delete the Trashes folder it will free up memory on the MP3 Player
you need to make shure does songs end in .mp3 with lowercase letters for the song title its just a encryption problem!
rename all the songs after download from the net then put them in the mp3 player ! its not recognising the letters from the original persone who wrote the titles
YOUR NOT GOING TO HAVE THE OPTION ON THE MP3 PLAYER, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPTION WHEN YOU LOAD IT TO THE COPUTER. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS RIGHT CLICK ON THE SONGS THAT YOU WANT REMOVED AND SELECT DELETE. I HOPE THAT WORKS FOR YOU.
THE IPOD ISSUE I HAVE NOT CLUE SORRY
It is supposed to hold 1000 songs!
