More likely is the set is in shutdown---most common issue on this type of set is the convergence---to know you would have to locate and unsolder both 18 pin convergence chips---with them out of the circuit if the set comes on (will not look good) one of the two chips is shorted--these sets have very good protection circuits to prevent many parts from being destroyed at one time..
These are the chips--STK number is right on the front.
FIRST GREEN LIGHT WOULD COME ON. TOOK IT AWHILE BUT ITWOULD FINALLY TURN ON...NO NOTHING. IT'S GETTING SPARK CAUSE WHEN I PLUG AND UNPLUG IT AT THE SOURCE OF ENERGY IT SPARKS. FUSE IS NOT BLOWN
1. there is porblem with the lcd screen. if it is in warranty, have it replaced or repaired
2. some tvs save the last state it was in in case of power outages. taking it out of the power source will have the same effect. so turn off the tv before unplugging it.
i have seen before that model have pretty severe cracked solder connections on the power board. otherwise those types of tvs can have convergence failures that will keep the tv from turning on.
the bulbs go out it is normal on projection tv's, you can order the new one online, just out in the model number of your tv and you will find it, be very carful not to touch the bulbs when they come or when you are putting them in the tv
Replace the convergence IC's - P/N STK192-110 with part STK192-150 or 180. Then you can go back in and make the detailed convergence settings and get your picture back in alignement. Also check the flame-resistant resistors around the ICs to make sure that none of them have opened up.
What was the STKs that was in set ? If 110s always upgrade to STK392-180s. If they were 392-560s go back with the same. they worked differently then the 110s 150s 180s
We had this problem too. If finally got to where it wouldnt turn on at all. A service man came out and replaced the power switch. That took care of the problem.
