If the receiver is leased from DISH Network, it specifies is the receiver is alter in any manner, the warranty is voided. If you own the receiver, you are free to do what you like with your receiver. I hope this helps.

Dvr box wont record

Are you able to access any of your previous recordings?

Try unplugging the receiver for 10-15 seconds and plug back in. The receiver will reboot itself for you and should restore functionality of the DVR. If that doesn't work the hard drive has likely failed and we would need to send a replacement receiver.

How do I transfer recorded programs from my 622 DVR to my home computer?

User guide. above.
You would have to connect up, using a PC & DVR software and some form of TV/Video recording Card, or USB device. Then connect up via AV, Composite, Yellow, Video. White & Red Audio. and "Capture" either live video & Audio, so basically whatever was viewed on the screen, would be "Recorded" on the PC, via the TV/Video interface device, if using a laptop, then a USB "Dongle" & software would be the best. In a Desktop, a PCI-I card would be Best, Then using the Software that comes with the devices, you "Record" with that and "Play" with the Dish DVR, and save, the Streamed Video & Audio to the PC. Now, If you have Component Out, on the Dish, then this is the one to use, If you choose this way, remember the Device you are going to use Must have a Component INPUT as well, as A Stereo Audio Input, so ensure the device you get has that feature.

How do I find History on DVR & retrieve my protected recordings?

In order to find your protected recording in the history on your DVR, you would simply press the button specifically labeled, "DVR" on your DISH Network remote, the DISH On Demand screen will then come on your tv, proceed by selecting "My recordings," on the "My Recordings" screen you will then select the "Sort" option. Once you have selected the sort option it will allow you to specify how you want the recordings sorted- the option you would want to select is, "Protected." I hope this helps you out, let me know if you need any other help! -Kirstie DISH Network

Recovery of content on DVR-625 hard drive

usually hard drive failure boils down to files not opening succesfully, or a random internal failure, not a physical issue with the hard drive, however because dish network repairs these issues on a large scale the fix is to wipe the software and start over which means all recordings are lost, unfortunately recovering these recordings is basically impossible... if you often record things which are imperative to your business i would suggest getting a 622/722 dvr which will allow you to download these recordings to an external hard drive via usb, you will have unlimited use uploading and downloading programs for a one time fee of about 40$

Lines on TV with DVR-625

try using a better cable from the receiver to the tv. sometimes less expensive cables dont "ground " as well as they should after a few years. the more shielding the better. the cable here will sell you the cable much cheaper then going to any store and its better quality, even if your not a customer of cable.
hope this helps

Dish 722 not acquiring signal on boot up. must disconnect antenna cable and reconnet then works fine. Dish Tech support is useless and my contract is up in 1 month, so I am considering canceling. Any This problem began about 6 months ago. Nothing unusual happened that I am aware of. When the system is first booted, it will stay on the acquiring satellite screen with no progress and ultimately fail. If I disconnect the antenna (LNB) cable and reconnect then it immediately shows progress and acquires the satellites and works fine until it is shut off and restarted again. Dish Tech support is useless, no they are LESS then useless. I have tried replacing the antenna dish and lnb, running new cable from antenna to receiver, replaced the splitter switch (for 1 and 2) all with no success, so I have concluded this issue must be with the 722 receiver itself. As I mentioned I have made 3 attempts to get help from dish with no success ("maybe there are clouds in the way every time you boot the receiver and they happen to disappear just when you disconnect and reconnect the cable" <<< No I am not kidding). I thought it might be a grounding issue so I ran a separate ground directly to the antenna dish with no success. SInce the 1000.2 antenna does not require a seperate switch, I have tried connecting the LNB cable to each of the 4 inputs on the LNB with the same result on each. We live in Florida so we shut the receiver off when we are not home to reduce the danger of lightning damage, consequently this problem becomes an irritant on a daily basis. Any ideas? My contract with dish ends in 1 month so if I cannot fix this, I am most likely going to switch to cable or directtv. Except for this problem the unit works properly as does the dvr.
