Thank you SOOOOOOO much! Every Brother instruction gave the previous information and no one, but you here, gave the information to "unhide" the Reset parts menu! As a note, I recently updated to the very latest firmware, which may be why the Reset Parts menu is not shown... I'm saving the page in case I forget that little "Easter Egg". Curse you, Brother, for not updating your instructions! Took an "outsider" to help me find the answer! Thank you so much, Barry! You're a lifesaver!

Black streak down paper on HL 3170 CDW printer

Check the drum cylinder for a) a clot of fiber inside the corona wire channel; b) a groove worn into the surface of the coating. If those OK then check the fuser (inside at the back). Look for either a dirty fuser sleeve or a shiney track worn through the coating on the fuser. Dirty can be cleaned - shiney cannot be fixed

Hi
The problem maybe that the fuser is over heating.
If this is the problem than it will most likely need replacing.

HP laserjet 3600 error message 50.9 Fuser Error

Thank you for the inquiry.
Yes you will probably have to replace the fuser. If this is a new printer still under warranty and the page count has not reached the service life of the fuser, contact HP for warranty replacement. Once the new fuser in installed you will need to restore the service count.

How do you reset the fuser count on a hp4700

The fusers for this particular printer have the reset technology embedded in them. There is no menu option to reset the maintenance count. If upon installing the new fuser it hasn't reset the count itself, you need to contact your supplier about getting a replacement.
