Remote won't work. Bought a replacement but still no joy. Any ideas? TV works OK on side buttons.

U bought an original remote right?If u bought an a universal remote.U must have to enter the codes for ur tv model in ur univeral remote manual.

    We have the same problem with the remote that came with the television. Only volume control is activated by almost every button on the remote, and most others do not work. The remote BURNS through batteries like kindling wood. Our cable remote also activates the volume control with EVERY button we push. UGH!

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. Sounds like a power board issue? Dry joints on the main board? Capacitors may have issues.? I would not go opening up the TV if you are not aware of the potential dangers.

Ive just bought a 22 inch lg tv, tuned in ok but remote is now not working, wont do anything, wont even put tv in standby mode. Any ideas?
unplug tv, take batteries out of remote. plug tv back in, replace batteries. best idea i have. sometimes that resets the devices. good luck

My tv [vizio vf550m] won't respond to a remote.
Vizio is famous for having main board issues. If you have replaced the IR board the only two other items it could be is a broken wire from the IR to main or the main board has an issue. Nothing else can stop the remote from working provided the remote is working properly.

Remote to tv doesn't work
Hello
Check the remote first for its infrared emission. If it is OK, the infrared sensor inside your tV is faulty. It should be replaced with same type and number. It can be located just behind the infrared window at the front panel of your Tv. You ahve to open your TV ot access it. It will have three solder terminals, and will look somehat brownish black in colour. Will look like this.

Hi, You need a code to match with your TV remote. The codes for the Ge universal remote for Sanyo are 0049 0097 0110 0004 0268 0012 0108 0180. You will have to try each code seperately untill you get one that works. Good luck.

The software version decides the function that coincide with remote signal. If the remotes' infrared signal frequency differ to the receiving spctrrum of the software, it won't work well. You must have the remote of the present TV itsef to work in coincide with the button actions. Just get it. There is no other way. OK.
