Funnel & Frame Replacement - LG side-by-side refrigerator
I own an LG side by side refrigerator. The dispenser funnel broke off. It seemed like a simple enough item to replace as it appeared it just snapped into place. While on line ordering the new funnel the product had a notice that the install the replacement funnel I would also have to get a new funnel frame (the part the funnel snaps onto) as the whole assembly had been redesigned. So I now have both new parts. It all seems pretty simple when I look at how the parts go together. But I can not figure out how to get access to the current funnel frame to remove it and replace it with the new one. It sits up behind the the digital display. Neither the display nor the molding around the dispenser seems to readily shift or move to allow access and the inside of the freezer is completely smooth and seamless panel. Any idea how I get access to the funnel frame? I don't want to force anything and make the situation worse. Thanks
This diagram may help some.. should be a molding thats goes around outside of dispenser.. should be able to pop off and get at screws u need to get at...to remove and get at what u need too
Yes. But LG came out with a new frame for the funnel. So you have to order the funnel and the frame which is installed through your front control panel. Good Luck I just did it.

All of you guys are wrong. What that person is saying is that the physical paddle used when you place your glass in the dispenser bay and press against the paddle....That's what's broken the paddle......
I have the same problem. Mine has stopped making ice now. Thinking about putting old piece back in and gluing funnel frame. Did you ever find a picture of the order fo the switch piece to frame?
funnel itself squeeze in on sides to release tabs. so many tabs broke a redesign was made 5-30-2005 , have to replace frame bracket and funnell. models after tant had new design. part number from exploded view: 3016JA2002C funnel 278d location number exp. view 3210JA0006S frame 278b location '"" '' ""

I am a year too late to help this person but also recently had to replace Funnel Frame on my LG Fridge model # LRSC26925SW. Literally just finished so sharing a quick tip. Not sure if it's same on all models but worth an easy shot. Tried the screw driver thing with no luck as it was just digging into the plastic even at the one little tab hole at bottom of the Frame... So instead, I stood to left of Fridge and cupped my hands around the edge of the door and into the left side of the curved part of the bezel (more towards the bottom) and simply pulled towards me and out away from door (almost like clamping my grip tighter) and the bottom portion popped open with enough gap to work the rest off gently by hand. Pull out from the bottom first and then slide the assembly down to release the top. Once you replace the funnel frame and are ready to reassemble, work the top of the Bezel with the display in first and slide upwards, you'll know when it's in the right place and then snap the remaining three sides a little at a time with the side of your hand (firmly if necessary). It didn't break any clips in case you are wondering... they are designed to release and clamp in that fashion... Ice dispenser now works as good as new... Funny part is all I "really" needed was the Funnel, but LG changed the part and it would only fit if I also replaced the Funnel Frame. Good Luck to the next person reading this!

The dispenser cover snaps off. Look at the bottom corners of the dispenser faceplate and you may see small slots to put a small flat bladed screwdriver inside to help pry the faceplate off. This faceplate snaps on very tightly so it may seem like there are screws holding it in place, but it only snaps in.
Once you have the faceplate off the rest will be easy as you can see what you are doing and what you have to remove.
Note, if you are replacing the funnel you need to know that this part has been updated as of OCT 2005 (stronger clips to hold it in place) and it will not snap into the older funnel frame (the part it attaches to).
If the serial number for your model starts with 510KR or lower, then you will also need the updated funnel frame part number 3210JA0006S.
so two things I have learned. First if the tabs on the funnel break dont buy a new one just crazy glue back in place. Also if you take the gasket out put vaseline on the nubbins and they will slide back in place without having to take the panel apart. Fix time 7 minutes. Booyah!!!
