Just check your headpshone set pin connected to your cell phone...... that pin might have loosely connected.... i had same problem, i resolved by connecting it tightly.... Try it..... it may work for you

You can't initialize the FM radio without the handsfree attached because the phone uses the handsfree wire as an antenna. You can achieve this by building a special snap on to the phone that activates the pins on the port on the bottom of the phone...but it would be pointless since without the handsfree there would be no reception meaning you won't hear anything...just lot's of static.
