I'd suggest downloading the most recent software and drivers for the Performance MX mouse to see if that makes a difference. You can get that software directly from their site at this link: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/428/783?section=downloads.

If neither of those help you'll have to contact Logitech directly regarding your warranty question. You can either email them or call them, and their contact info is listed on their website: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloads.

To enable additional features, install the Logitech SetPoint Software for Windows. Download the most recent software at www.logitech.com/downloads

if these updates are logitech based. may be issue with hid driver system.

1. open the device manager
2. look for the mouse section
3. right click on the logitech mouse
   
4. update driver (do not start auto updater)
   
5. select advanced/install from specific location
6. then select dont search i will choose a driver.
7. if you see more then one logitech driver choose hid-compliant device.
8. mouse should start working uninstall all logitech programs and delete all folders for logitech in the programs folder.
9. use CCleaner to get rid of any registry entries.
   

As long as you have installed the mouse driver, you have done everything possible ... the mouse is faulty.

First, make sure the batteries are still working, then reset the connection. Then you want to make sure you have the most recent drivers and software for the mouse by going here:

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch. Hope this helps you. Bud

Acting on advice from another FixYa string, we blew out the mouse and dock several times with canned air. It performed slightly better, but then as we continued to use the mouse it suddenly cleared and is working almost 100% now.

From reading earlier strings, I'm wondering why Logitech (in its product material received on purchase) doesn't recommend this as periodic maintenance for the mouse?

You probably already done this but try pressing the receiver button and while it is flashing turn the board over and press the small reset/connect button on the bottom of the board and also the reset/connect button on the bottom of the mouse. It should work okay after that. here is hoping that helps. Bud
