Infinity Basslink killing battery

I had an Infinity Basslink installed in my 2002 Toyota Tacoma, and for some reason, the power light stays on even when the vehicle is turned off, thus draining the battery. Also, whenever I turn the stereo on, there is a loud thump. So! what is going on?

Both issues sound like they are related to a non-connected or loosely connected remote wire on the Basslink.

If you're using RCA preamp wires to connect your stereo to the Basslink, make sure the remote wire input on the Basslink is solidly connected to the stereo's remote output.

If you're using the speaker level inputs on the Basslink and not the RCA preamps, make sure the remote input is not connected, as the Basslink will automatically turn on when it senses the speaker level inputs are active.

Infinity Basslink. I wired and connected everything and sounded amazing. I removed my center console to construct a box to put the Basslink in. When I was putting the Basslink sub into the box (tight fit)...

I would get a test light and see if the remote line is still working. Otherwise, yes you probably fried it. Doesn't take much in car audio to fry an amp.

Power light

Hi Bill, I believe the power problem is related to the Remote wire which should be blue or yellow. The remote wire is suppose the turn the Basslink on and off when the radio is turned on and off. The yellow wire is normally used for power antenna. Traditionally the remote wire is blue. You can use a Speaker level adapter and splice in with the L/R rear speaker wires, and the adapter will convert the speaker level to line level. The output of the adapter will go to the Rear speaker input on the basslink., Write back if you need more detail on the adapter.

My cars battery died, and when i turned the car on finally the head unit and my infinity bass link didnt turn on

Check the fuse in your car's fuse panel. If it is burnt then change. If it is still good, check the fuse on the head unit and amp.

Toyota tacoma 2003 ac control assembly kills battery

You diagnosis is wrong in my opinion, that module will not drain a good battery, first have the battery load tested (Autozone and others do the test for free), if it is good then look for some kind of light left on or staying on, suspects are visor vanity lights and glove box and console lights.

Is the light on the infinity basslink suppose to be red or green

Hello jmw3031,

The Basslink should have both a red power LED and a green servo LED. The red LED should be on when power is applied. The green servo LED should only come on during high-level bass transients. Turn the gain down slightly if it stays on for extended periods.

Hope this helps.

Basslink drops out.

The auto on switch should only be in the on position when the REM wire is NOT connected. Auto on can be flaky. Basslinks respond better to RCA inputs then the high level ones. You might try getting an RCA line converter, they work very well with the Basslink.
