How much does it cost to fix a code 5 lamp driver problem on a sony grand wega 50" tv?

The tv projection Lamp inside the tv now has it been inside this tv like 1 1/2 or 2 years already and tv is on and used it like 4 or 5 hours every days?Yes,the tv now the 2 red LEDS solid lights apear.One of those light have a word "Lamp" written on it bazel frame?Yes,100% ur tv projection Lamp life are over and ending.Tries websites like Ebay.com,Partstore.com to buy a new tv projection Lamp for the replacement.

It is the optical block causing the problem. Sony has had recalls on a lot of the LCD rear projection tv's made over the last 6 to 7 years. The cost of the optical block is around 800.00. Due to the cost, I would check with Sony to see if it qualifies as a recall situation.

Most possible cause would be broken/ dead lamp in your Sony grand wega tv. Check and replace lamp if it has not been replaced in last 2-3 years.

5 blinks is lamp driver error, but is usually the lamp. Else it's the lamp driver (ballast), if it has the ~280VDC coming to it.

hello make sure the lamp and the cover is fitted securely, when you've done this the tv should be ok

it was the very begining of the lamp burnning out , new lamp and tv good as new

codes consist of N blinks, a pause and N blinks again,valid error codes are 3, 4, 5, 6 & 9 blinks.

TV goes on and off by itself is 99% a result of a bad lamp. You must replace your Lamp in order to fix this unit. Average cost for lamp is $200. Lamp part number: A-1606-034-B
