Where is the scan head locking switch

scan unit can`t move, see the problem

On my Sharp AL-1551CS, it is located on the left end underneath the scanner unit.....it is a knob that rotates only 1/4 turn to either lock or unlock.

Check the scan head lock. It can easily be locked or unlocked. It is used to protect the moving parts inside the machine when it is moved/transported. Someone in our office was just making copies and ttapping their fingers on it and they locked it without even realizing it. it is under the top of the machine where the paper comes out. sometimes they are a slide or turn knob.

hi maryanne,delete all the sharp AL 1655cs programme and reinstall the printer software (INSTALL PRINTER) if need more help please log on to sharp copier web site for the manual instruction..before that make sure your printer is compatible for your PC.

When [L1-00] appears, the scan head
locking switch is locked. Turn off the
power, release the scan head locking
switch, WAIT 10 SECONDS and turn the power back on.

the scanner lock could be on. This is located above the paper exit
trat. It has a knob with a picture of a lock. It shoulb be in the lock position. The scanner bar could be dirty. This is located under the copier glass.

A letter "L"  and a number "1"  appear alternately = The scan head locking switch is locked. Unlock the scan head locking switch.

Yes, ,there is a clear plastic round thing where the paper comes out uder the scanner that locks or unlocks the scan head. turn it to unlock.
