I get a weird clicking noise when it gets to the rinse cycle. During the agitation cycle it also makes a weird noise like its straining to do what its supposed to do.
Hiya WRock04... would be nice to have make and model.. otherwise.. look to replacing the brushes in the motor if the machine has done relatively little work... 3-5 yrs in some cases... otherwise a new motor unfortunately may be required.. specially if you can smell burning!!

Hiya again .. it is the " carbon brushes".. these basically sit either side of the Motor magnito.. and enable a spark to occur.. in turn forcing it to spin.. Bear in mind that it may be the motor itself that is past its best and replacement may be necessary. What age is your appliance? If you are able to take the motor off yourself.. take to a repairer... and ask them to fit them .. Without your location.. am unable to give you an approx price for the brushes,,,
In the Uk can be £10 upwards for parts.. no more than £25.. + labour of around 1/2 - 1hour...
Hope this helps

My husband has taken it apart and we have no clue what it is. The air bell is fine. He is wondering if it could be the trans going. There is no whining noise, just the clicking after its gone through its agitation. It won't spin out unless I turn it to the spin cycle. The clothes in it are not unbalanced, I have tried with no clothes as well, and it doesn't make a difference.
How do I replace the brushes?
I have the exact same problem as well, would love to know how to change the brushes as well otherwise I guess I will be calling Sears.
