Lenses are out/won't turn on/off

I don't know what's the problem with my optio p70...but it won't turn on...the lenses are out and I can't turn it on/off...I don't know what to do

Hi,
The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage.

My camera fell in the sand I don't know if the sand got stuck in it & I don't know if that is what is causing the problem with the lenses not opening

is it notifieing you that there is a lens eror? or does it just not turn on? This type of problem you won't be able to fix yourself, and don't try to either! You will need to contact Kodak and tell them there is a lens eror (don't give details that you shouldn't be giving), hopefully they will be willing to fix it for you or replace with refurb.

Sorry, you don't. It's a professional job only as you need lens calibration equipment which you won't possess.

In any case, if there's a cloudy element it's probably lens fungus. Lenses which are badly infested are best discarded as they're totally uneconomic to repair unless they are very high value specialist items. Yours isn't.

It won't focus properly and i don't know why. I don't change anything on the camera when i switch lenses and this one won't focus at all and if it does it take a long time. Not sure what...

If it is a auto focus lens the lens should be serviced and cleaned. If an auto focus lens gets dirty it gets stuck.

Hi I have a Pentax P70, however there is an intermitent fault where the saved images are corrupted, and turn pink/purple. Any ideas what may cause this?

Try this...go into the camera menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. Download any pics you want to save from the card. Go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

Sounds like a bad microchip on the camera system board. Replace the system board.

Camera wont turn on&lens wont move

Folks,

Try to assist the machine mechanism. Turn the lenses (force is no necessary) when turning on or off. This should unlock the mechanism.
