Dell latitude c640 sound drivers

I installed windows xp service pack 3 and now no sound drivers are working.on the device manager it shows crystal wmd audio codec are missing and upon installation,the same error is shown.please advice

    i tried to install some sound file converter software and on restarting my laptop i descovered that there is no sound. it can't even play system sounds.the device manager doesn't list the hardware. i thought it was a sound card problem, so i downloaded a crystal driver from dell support website which i installed as well as the chipset for my model of laptop. i installed that also and the problem is worse. right now the operating system hangs and doesn't even boot.

Slam o alikum , u must go 2 http://driverguid.com
and then register .i have also dell c640 there i down vga moden driver .

Try installing Microsoft UAA Drivers, you can find em in google.

uninstall your sound card using the device manager, right click on your sound card then uninstall then reinstall the sound card driver then restart the computer.

Dell Latitude c640 wont boot in normal but will boot in safe mode. num lock and caps lock work but just has blank screen after xp splash screen

as you are telling your driver has not been installed properly please visit the manufacture website and download latest driver and reinstall it( before installing remove the existing driver)

what u should do is
turn off your system
press and hold Fn key,power on the system, leave Fn key
computer will perform a diag
after those diags you will get 4 options you have to choose symptom TREE
you will get options look for any option which says sound or audio
if you hear sounds at that time you need to reinstall the drivers as it states that sound card is working fine
or else
provide me your system's service tag located at the bottom pannel of your system, turn it upside down you will find a bar coded sticker which has a 7 digit alphanumeric number
it will be much more easier for me to provide u a resolution
