Ur sub wont buzz due to bad speaker. either u have a faulty preamp or power amp. yes it can be repaired and will not cost much. if it is loud and annoying, get it repaired. sometimes subs emit low hum when powered up. this is the way the are desinged.

Why is there a loud humming/buzzing coming from speakers?

As mentioned above, a blown 2200 uF capacitor will cause that buzz. This is from my Altec VS4621. The buzz would be in the sub, then shift to the speakers if connected. I didn't examine the buzz all that long because it's loud af, but you can see the right capacitor is blown and open. IMO it's worth repairing, the caps are about 2 dollars per batch (20), plus time. You can watch plenty of videos on it, or bring some dollars to most repair shops.

Sub-woofer driver rattle/buzz.

Bad news! It sounds like the coil is rubbing inside the magnet of the speaker! There's no cure, when the cone is warped it it knackers it up. Had the same problem some years ago with a Wharfedale speaker. Someone told me you can hit it on the part where the cone joins the magnet -with a hammer!
Anyway it didn't make a bit of difference! And the speaker was chucked.

If i increase the sub woofer volume the voice distorts and gives a buzzing sound. it works fine on low volume

Your sub woofer is not mean for voice sound...check that you have connected the systen up properly and that you have put the sub woofer into its wn connection..if it is in the right connection the woofer could be blown.also try decrease the midrange hurts on the woofer

Buzzing sound from woofer when I plug in

If the woofer works fine when plugged into any other port, I would say that you have a connector on the receiver that has a loose connection or possibly a cold solder joint (poor or broken solder joint). RCA jacks can be stressed quite a lot especially if you use cables that have very tight connectors. The female RCA jack gets wiggled or twisted when trying to remove a cable and this causes solder joints to crack. I would have a look at that connector on the receiver..

Bose acousticmass 15 sub-woofer making a noise

The sub contains the amp for the other speakers. But it sounds like the amp has a seriously damaged section and will probably have to be serviced by Bose.
