Re: ds screen just flickers
Check all the ribbon cables and make sure they are all the way in. The flickering screen tells you it's probably one of the cables not on that screen. These cables go in a lot further than you might think.

I bet you have replaced a screen or opened the DS. The ribbon cables for the screens have to be securely located and ALL THE WAY into the holders otherwise the DS lights to show an error. the ribbon cable error looks like this when you power on--- Dim green for a second then bright pulse green then off. If this is happening its a cable error RE-SEAT even if you think they are. If you get that error it is deffinately cable.
The right hand side hinge has the ribbon cable for the top screen inside and the 2 wires for ths mic and wireless, chances are the ribbon cable has become damaged, therefore the top screen will proberly need replacing.

Heere's the link anyways :- LCD FLICKER SOLUTION
i found a REALLY easy solution! the most likley problem is that there is dust in the GBA/DS game card slot! it corrupts the connectors (i dont want 2 explain how it gets into the system) so step one: wrap a small peice of tissue around the stylus(make sure DS is turned ON)
step two: LIGHTLY go inside the GBA/DS slot with the tissue wrapped stylus.
step three: shut down DS system and turn on again
problem solved! hope this helps.
Hi, if the bottom screen briefly comes on with a white screen. There is a issue with the top screen, it is either the top screen itself or if there is damage to the hinge it will more than likely be the cheaper option the ribbon cable that threads though the hinge to the top screens PCB board.
These cables or ribbon cable and wire connects directly inside the upper LCD monitor. it is not feasible to replace these wires only. I suggest you see about getting a replacement upper LCD screen which will give you the wires you need and a new screen to boot. Another porblem is the case itself is very hard to disassemble. You will come near destroying the case to ge to the lcd. You must disassemble the unit fully and put the correct curl in the ribbon cable to get it to fit right. In short, the price being what it is for a replacement LCD, and the trouble you have to go though to get this problem fixed, It may not be totally worth repairing. If you dont care and wish to do a repair, then my wishes for luck are with you.
