Your battery may have worn out over use, so it may not hold a charge anymore.

When i turn on my littlebigplanet game on my psp once its done loading and at the main menu it just freezes and the psp turns off after a few seconds. when i turn it back on the system restarts

This is a problem occurring in all the play station 3 consoles....... this is mainly because of the poor quality of the disc.....as a result it leads to the damage of ur PSp lens..............use good original discs........the heating effect is due to the long usage of pirated discs ...
check your lens if its working good then better download this Repair Guide for further information .........

PSP running slow

I'm not sure if there is a VHS menu on normal firmware, but if your running custom most likely the problem is your last update. Here is how to fix:
Click Select->Select CPU Clock XMB->Toggle To Default->Exit Menu

Because your PSP is running on something like 20/10 and lagging real bad it may freeze when you open the menu, if so turn your PSP off by holding the power button up and forcing the shutdown, keep trying until you can get the menu working. It will also not respond to your commands properly, when you click down it will move through like 3 options because of the lag, be patient wait till it lands on CPU Clock XMB and follow the instructions. Happy Gaming!

Psp trouble

this is a bug/glitch in the psp system i would advise using pandoras battery and just put it back to 1.5 and try using custom firmware it runs smoother if you are not experienced with the psp get someone who is that has custom firmware to make a pandoras battery and downgrade to 1.5 then just update normally if that dosnt work try sending it to sony but this happens to me too sometimes not that often though ever since i went to custom firmware if you do get pandoras battery and want custom firmware look up Angelmikey all his psp videos are to the point and very deatailed hope this helps
