I have one of these printers and have found the problem, crappy enigineering and inferior parts. Looking at the printer from behind, on the left side (where the motor is located) There are two white gears, located at the bottom and behind a larger black gear. One is of medium size and has a spring. The other is smaller and slides into the medium gear. If you can get these two gears back together and in their proper location, then you're set. But, if you're like me and get frustrated easily, DON'T TRY IT! I broke mine :( A repair will cost as much as a cheap printer, so bite the bullet and hit-up your local rite-aid, they have printers that wont bust the bank. Keep your MP 150, after all the scanner/copier will still work without its attached printer.
Your printheads are indeed clogged. (Note: all ij printers should be powered off when not in use! This retracts & seals your printheads.) Now, on to your problem. In your printer software, there should be a maintenance section. In there, you need to clean the printheads - this may have to be done *many* times - like 10-ish to clear (if still possible) clogged ink. Hope this helps.

I had this same problem. Count the number of blinks in sequence of the error light. it will flash green and yellow, and then just straight yellow for a number of flashes, then it will flash green again and the same number of yellow flashes again. Here is the diagnostic guide.
Two flashes: Printer is out of paper. Paper does not feed
Three flashes: Paper jam
Four Flashes: The Print Head Lock Lever is not locked properly / Ink tank is not installed properly. / Ink may have run out
Five flashes: Print Head is not installed./ Print Head is defective
Eight flashes: Ink absorber is almost full
Nine flashes:No response from connected digital camera or video camcorder/Connected digital camera or video camcorder is not compatible with this printer./PictBridge compliant devices are attached to both Direct Print Port and Bluetooth Unit Connector
Eleven flashes: Automatic Print Head Alignment failed
Twelve Flashes: Low battery level
Fifteen Flashes: Ink tank cannot be recognized
Seventeen Flashes: Ink has run out
Eighteen Flashes: Printer detected ink out condition
Nineteen Flashes: A USB hub is connected
Mine had 10 Flashes and the Print Carriage, was bad. Cost almost as much as another printer so thats what I did. I did take it apart and got it unstuck, but still didn't work.
I had same problem. It ended up being a paper jam altho I could never see anything jammed in the paper paths. Perhaps it was a tiny piece of torn paper that I couldn't see. Anyhow, I fixed it by taking a piece of 8.5x11 cardstock and manually pushing it into the paper feed path in between the rollers. It did not go all the way through so I pushed it in and pulled it back out a few times. Apparently it dislodged whatever was causing the jam and the doggone yellow light finally stopped flashing!!! good luck.
Afteryou install a print cartridge, the attention light begins to flash red.The printer will not print. One of the following messages may appear onthe control panel: or the Printer stops Printing in the middle .

================= How do i refill my INK Cartridge ?
There are 2 distinct method 1) Black has a bladder 2) Color contains sponges - we need 3 sirenges with needle to fill the Color cartridge with sponges - simply punch
COLOR CARTRIDGE
1. If you see the Cartridge turn it round and locate the filler holes by removing the plastic top cover of the cartridge. You may need to pry plastic top or hole cover off using a thin metal blade. please make sure that you do not damage the sensors on the back of the cartridge whilst doing this.
2.Using the picture(on the cartridge which shows you the 3 differedcolored spots), fill syringe with the corresponding color ink.
3. Insert the syringe into the correct hole of the color being filled and push all the way down. Notes : You will feel resistance as there is a sponge inside.
So Slowly inject approximately 8ml of ink until you can just see the ink surface on the top of the sponge, any more and it is over-filled. If this happens simply draw back on the syringe a little.
4. Rinse the syringe and needle thoroughly before proceeding then repeat the process for the other colors.
8. Re-attach the cover securely with adhesive tape and continue using the cartridge.
BLACK CARTRIDGE
1. Fill the syringe with approximately 20ml of black ink.
2.Push the syringe all the way into the filling hole and SLOWLY injectall the ink into the cartridge or until the reservoir is full.
3. Replace the cartridge and run 1 - 3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.
4. If necessary leave cartridge in printer for up to 24 hours. (This allows ink to flow to the print head).
Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following: Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer? If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges. They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead. If you are using the manufacturer’s new ink cartridges, then please contact their technical support group.Factory new cartridges usually have warranties on them. Don
HP printers do not remember the cartridge serial number to reject refills (certain Canon printers do though). It sounds like you have an air bubble in the sponge that is inhibiting ink from reaching the print head. I would guess that either you or the store/internet seller that refilled this cartridge hand filled it. These cartridges should be filled under a vacuum to remove air bubbles from the sponge and allow you to fully fill the cartridge (an air bubble takes up space that your ink could be occupying). I recommend Cartridge World or Office Depot for refills. Avoid internet sellers and refill shops that have one giant all-in-one machine that does the filling for them.
1. Cover the outlet hole with the orange outlet seal that came with the
cartridge (a rubber band will hold this in place) to prevent ink loss
during refilling or with your finger over the outlet port while wearing
latex gloves .
2. Use the "L tool" provided to push the Sealing
Ball into the cartridge (tap on the 'L tool' if the ball is stuck). If
you can't see the ball just above the "push" then peel back the top
label on the reservoir side of the cartridge to expose the Sealing
Ball. This is the ball Canon used to plug up the hole after they
refilled the cartridge.
3. Attach the needle to the syringe and fill with the correct color ink.
4.
Slowly inject approximately 13 ml. of Black Ink or 6 ml of Color Ink
slowly into the filling hole until the chamber is almost full. Unused
ink may be returned to the bottle.
5. Seal the hole using the Green Plug. Put your finger on the green plug and twist until it is seated well in the hole.
6. Remove the orange outlet seal (or your finger) from the outlet hole.
7. Replace the cartridge and run 1 - 3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.
8.
If you have trouble getting your cartridge to print and the sponge side
of the cartridge looks dry then drill a hole (or burn a hole with a hot
paper clip) into the top of the sponge side of the cartridge. Stick the
syringe needle into the sponge and fill with ink. You do not need to
seal this hole.
If you are filling cartridges to use later,
leave the orange outlet seal rubber banded onto the cartridge. This
will prevent your sponge from drying out. Note: On the CLI-8 and
PGI-5 series cartridges, there is an electronic counter embedded in a
small computer chip/board. This counter starts at a high number and
decreases for every character printed. Eventually, the counter reaches
zero. At this point, an error message is generated by the printer. If
you click "OK" to the error message, the printer will continue to print. If
you have trouble getting your printer to print because it thinks the
cartridges are empty. Look on your printer for an orange blinking
light. This is your reset button, usually the paper feed button also.
Hold this button in for 5 seconds until the light goes out. Note: this
will not reset the ink level back to full.
"Press and hold the paper feed, paper switch and the power switch.
Once
the power light and paper light flashes twice and the other lights are
flashingrelease the paper feed and paper switch"and then press the
paper feed switch".
The power, paper and ink lights will flash twice. At this point the protection counter has been reset."
The Protection Counter referred to above prevents you from printing once the printed pages counter reaches a predetermined threshold.
