Samsung 204B has a *very* long response time, b-w approx 10sec

Dear experts, my Samsung 204B has a *very* long response time, black-white approx. 10 secs.. white-black ~0.5 sec. This happened instantly while in operation, and persists ever since. Happens both on DVI and VGA, with different graphic cards (NVIDIA GF 7600GS and ATI 7500) as well as without any signal input at all, then showing the wandering "Check signal cable" window. I opened the case, the caps look OK to me, no bulging or leaking. Any ideas?

Thanks for looking at the pics, budmrtn.

Here's a video showing the slow response. The graphics should be updated instantly. Instead, it appears more like a fade-in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tcwLBV3j...

Samsung 204b white screen after replacing capacitors

Check the connector/cable between the logic board and the T-CON board on the LCD panel, also check the fuse on the T-CON board, it may not be receiving the 12/5vdc for for the VCC.

Start up problem with Samsung Sync Master 731BF 17" monitor

Hello,

Your internal power supply is failing. There are parts called capacitors that are not functioning correctly and this causes the power supply to not be able too stabilize the voltages that run the monitor. After repeated power cycles the capacitors will hold enough charge to function until you urn the unit off and then they discharge so you have to start all over again. We have a step by step repair guide article posted at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/samsung-204b-lcd-monitor-repair/ This should get you back going again. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service, you can get that information here: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/service-request-form/

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Samsung monitor picture clicks off after 2-5 seconds...

Yes, It sounds like the backlight inverter circuit is shutting down. No inverter power, no backlight. On some monitors the inverter circuit will shot circuit the power power supply which makes the power light flash on some it just kills the backlight. You can usually check with a flashlight. Hold the flashlight pointed at the screen and see if you can see any of the icons or background picture. If you can then it is the backlight circuit or backlight tubes, usually the circuit.

Yes. There is no vertical deflection. The circuit that controls vertical deflection is bad. This is an easy fix for a TV tech. Take it to the TV repair shop.
