THello this a problem phone. If the button is push in pop it out by lifting the button slightly. Now if this doen't work get the phone replace at your nearest verizon corporate store. Impossible to unlock a verizon BB 8830 (or any verizon devices that have a GSM slot). You are better off getting a true GSM BB device and unlock that device.

Hi, the keypad lock button is located along the top of the Tour, on the left side. (It has a hard-to-see padlock icon.) Press this button to either lock or unlock your keypad.

Applications > Options (wrench) > Password > You can either set Password to Disabled, or change Security Timeout up to 1 hour. Set Lock Handheld Upon Holstering to No as well. Hit BB Menu Button and choose Save.
