How do I get my Samsung sc d 353 mini DV tape recordings on computer

To transfer the recordings from your Samsung SC D353 Mini DV tape to your computer, you'll need to follow these steps:

1. Connect the camcorder to your computer: Use a FireWire (also called IEEE 1394) cable to connect your Samsung SC D353 Mini DV camcorder to your computer. Most computers have a FireWire port, but if yours doesn't, you can purchase a FireWire adapter card.
2. Turn on the camcorder: Turn on your Samsung camcorder and set it to VCR mode.
3. Open the video capture software: On your computer, open the video capture software that came with your operating system (e.g. Windows Movie Maker, iMovie on Mac) or a third-party video capture software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) that supports Mini DV tape.
4. Start recording: In the video capture software, select the option to capture video from a DV device. Click the Record button in the software and then press Play on the camcorder to begin playing the Mini DV tape. The video should be captured and recorded onto your computer.
5. Save the video: Once the video has been captured, you can edit it if necessary and then save it to your computer in the desired format.

Note: If you do not have the original video capture software, it is recommended that you search and download compatible software before beginning the transfer process. Additionally, make sure your computer has enough storage to store the transferred files.

I have a Canon FS20 camcorder. I have recently switched to a mac; however I need the transfer utility software to download the pics from the camera to the iMac. I already have image mixer for mac. Where...

Do you have iMovie? On mine, with any camcorder I've had, when I have iMovie running and plug the camcorder in it automatically changes to the Record mode. Click on the forward button and it will start the camcorder. Press the Record button when you get to the part you want to record. You can then edit the beginning or end of the section to use the portion(s) you want. The software controls the camcorder to go frontwards or backwards. Works very slick. Not sure what to suggest if you don't use iMovie.

I've imported my video's (from the camera) on my computer, by using the PMB-software. Everything works perfectly well so far. Afterwards, I made a copy of the video-files to an external HD. (These...

I'm afraid your video software doesn't support those video formats. Generally speaking, camcorder shoot videos and record them in .mod, .tod, .mts,.m2ts, and some directly in .avi, ect. You camcorder/camera shoot them in .m2ts or .mod format, I guess. The reason why you can watch and edit them on computer before is the software you use has chaged their formats internally. Now you need to convert them to .avi, .mov,.mp4,.mpeg,.etc so that they can be played back on common players.
ArcSoft ShowBiz is a good editor to directly import camera video in original formats and export them in whatever formats you want. You need to redo the video editing, I.m afraid.

For broken files, everio will prompt you to recover once switched on. If you mean deleted by accident, you can use file recovery software like Final Data Enterprise and a lot more. Mostly can be recovered, sometimes 80% or 90% of your total recording. Good Luck

Since it doesnt sound like you have a special external firewire hdd recorder that can direct connect to the camera, you gotta capture it with your pc and send it to your hdd after. Watch out that most of those hdd are set (partitionned) as they cant transfer file bigger than 4.xx gig... (You can usually set file recording from your pro capture software that built multiple file no more bigger than 4 gig per file...
