Hi there. I bought a Sansa Clip 2 G from Best Buy on Saturday for my son. We went to plug it into the computer and a little "new hardware found" icon appeared on the screen, but it was not recognized in My Computer so I don't know where to download the files. Also, at the beginning it showed "connecting" when I plugged it in the USB port, but now it doesn't do anything... any helpful suggestions?
pc doesent recognize the mp3
Reformat and upgrade the firmware
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
FIRMWARE UPGRADE - Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Hey i had this problem...stupid, but what worked was to slide the lock to hold and then hold the center button while you plug it in to usb. keep holding till you see it pop up on your taskbar. Worked for me and I messed with this stupid thing for 3 days. Cant get it recoginzed in anything other than media player though. Hope that helps

When I plugged my Sansa Clip MP3 player into the computer a little "new hardware found" icon appeared on the screen, but it was not recognized in My Computer so I don't know where to download the files. Also, at the beginning it showed "connecting" when I plugged it in the USB port, but now it doesn't do anything. The only program that recognizes it is Windows Media Player..- Im running XP w/ SP2. any helpful suggestions?
