Having trouble getting printer to work

I had the same experiences before.

What I always do is I unplug the scanner's usb cable and then switch usb ports till i find which port it will work.

In some cases this solution didn't work, I replace the usb cable with a new one. I always buy usb 2.0 compliant cable.

You should be able to install it using built-in drivers of Windows 7, using Windows 7 'Add a printer wizard'

If you have tried this and it does not work then you should refer to Epson, as they claim this is the correct procedure on their website.

You will need to download the Windows Vista version of 'Epson Scan' to enable scanning with your machine, however.

The drivers that are compatible with windows 2000 works with win xp too.

If you want to get the epson scanner driver for the cx7800 that is compatible with win xp, please log on to support.epson.com. click on all in ones to the left of the page. Then click on flatbed under all in ones. Click on Epson Stylus cx7800 under 2.Then select your product to the right of the page. Click on Windows under drivers and downloads. Click on the 8th driver down which is the epson11577.exe, it says TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v2.73A, then click on download now. click on thanks i prefer not to receive this information then click on the accept button. Click on direct link to the file then run the driver.

NOTE: make sure that the scanner is off and unplugged from your computer while you're downloading the drivers.
Do not forget to uninstall the drivers too before you install the new driver.
To uninstall driver:
- Click on start.
- go to control panel
- go to add or remove programs
- highlight epson scan then click on change remove and just go ahead and remove the driver.
- then restart your computer.
- download the driver once your computer is fully booted up.

Note that you have to uninstall the existing epson scan software and epson printer software on your computer first.

Log on to support.epson.com to get the proper driver for your printer.

if you download the scc it will reset your printer has new this should work

I don't know of anywhere you can buy just the software except from epson directly. You can try to download the software from their website for free. The link to your specific printer's page is HERE.

If you have trouble deciding which driver to download, please provide me with your Operating System and I will help further.

When you say fuzzy, do you mean that you are getting cast or moire? try this and keep me updated on the result

If you are seeing a grey cast to all stand alone copies made with the CX7800 please try the following:

1. Select the SETUP UTILITIES button on the CX7800

2. Press the RIGHT arrow (photo options) button until you have an option for copy quality then press the START button.

3. Use the UP or DOWN arrow (copies) buttons to select the desired copy quality you want then press the START button again.

Windows XP has its own scanning software found within the control panel under scanners and cameras. This appears to provide a more direct method of controlling the scanner because it is part of the OP Sys as opposed to 3rd party scanner software. If the scanner is installed and it appears as an installed option, then try using this approach instead of the actual scanning software.that came with the scanner.
