I have an ECHO CS 3000 chainsaw. It will idle for a little while if parallel to the ground. However, if the chainsaw is held downwards or towards either side (for example-- hanging from your belt while climbing a ladder), if will stall out and shut off. I'm not sure what happens within the chainsaw to cause this shutoff when the saw is moved around. Any solutions?
The idle speed screw may be set too low--adjust so that the chain stops moving, but the engine keeps running. Drain the fuel tank and see if the filter falls to the lowest point of the tank whatever the position. If it doesn't, replace the fuel line hooked to the filter as it may have lost flexibility. Hope this helps!
