Try blowing into the reader to clean of any dust. If problem still persists you will have to take it to be repaired by Nintendo engineers (as your DS-Lite reader may be damaged).

I only had that happen once and I looked at the date on the settings and it was set to 2017. I changed it to 2010 and the problem went away.

Games card not being recognised after insertion in slot.
E-bay have a new card reader, which they say needs no soldering. Has anyone had experience of this type of repair?

SOURCE: nintendo ds lite not reading

sounds like your system needs to either be cleaned or a new card slot installed on the unit. there are many shops on fixya if you check the directory that will help you out.

SOURCE: Nintendo DS Lite not reading some games

this is a problem with the pins inside could be dirty or dusty ether way you will need to get a cleaning fluid ie 100% alcohol cleaning fluid us a clean cotton bud inside the slot and use gently as not to damage pins, if the pins are heavy soiled you may need to get a fiberglass tipped pen wich is used to clean up poor contact areas on boards and other electrical circuits

hope this helps if unsure get in touch with nintendo they will prob fix it for you for free go here > http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/

SOURCE: how to put games in my memory card at Nintendo DS Lite?

To get an in depth answer seach you tube but in brief.
You will need to download the system files for your type of R4 or flash card you are using, make sure you get the exact model type as they are not interchangeable.
Drag and drop the files to your card you will see either 4 or 5 files. Then make a folder called Games on your micro SD card and load your games into that folder.
It quite involved but the tutorials on you tube go right into it.

Ds lite does not read games

First thing to do is rule out a dirty game slot. Buy a game slot cleaner online or at your local game store. Clean the slot and your games using the cleaning kit. Once you have done this if you still encounter the problem you should contact Nintendo to have it repaired or sell it as broken and buy a good used one.

Nintendo DS Lite Turns on sometimes, but not every time

It may be a bad DS or if you have a game in before the DS fully loads the game's connection is stopped somehow.

Nintendo ds lite won't read card

had this problem, i looked into where the game goes and one of the little metal teeth was bent, so i took a long toothpick and gently pushed it back over now it works fine. Be careful that you dont break it off though.
