The front door seal is referred to as the "bellow". They do wear out with age and can also become mishapened from repeated pressure from the door being closed. Over time the bellow can stretch or develop rips and tears and begin to leak. If the bellow is leaking, or is no longer sealing correctly, the following link explains how to replace one:

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: If you leave the door OPEN between washes this will help prevent constant pressure on the door seal which can stretch it out of shape over time. It is also beneficial to allow the wash tub to air out to prevent mold and mildew from forming. Also DO NOT overload the washer. This can contribute to premature wear of the door bellow and cause rips and tears.

Leak around Duet wash machine

What side is it on? The front panel under the door comes off. You can then see the pump and drain. If it is not coming from those it could be the fill hose or the detergent dispensor. Also might be the door seal. Location of the leak is important

Our Duet washer leaks about a cup of water

If this is a Whirlpool Duet series front loader, the following link explains how to access and inspect your washer for leaks:

In the majority of the cases with front loaders, the door bellow (rubber door seal) begins to leak. A routine inspection of the seal perimeter will tell you if there are any rips or tears. If the bellow is damaged, it must be replaced. The following link explains how:

My washer leeks from the bottom, slow drips, when in progress. Can I fix this myself

If you have a leaking FRONT LOADER, you will need to remove the lower toe panel under the door and inspect the washer interior cabinet to sufficiently determine where the source of the leak may be coming from. The following link explains how to access and inspect your washer for leaks:

Make sure you throughly check all drain hoses, hose connections, the pump seal and the dispenser hose(s) that penetrate the door bellow.

These problems can easily be repaired without the assistance of a repairman. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

My Whirlpool front end loader washing machine is leaking from the degergent dispenser. Also, when it is on the spin cycle, it makes a load noise and it will occasionaly leak from under the door.

We just had the same problem. After taking out the detergent tray, we saw the water was not draining into the drum. Feeling around the door seal in the upper corner (there is a small opening all the way around, between the door seal and drum seal, that you can fit your fingers into - please unplug your maching), my husband felt some fabric, and pulled out a mangled toddler pillowcase, which would have been in there for about two - three loads prior to finding the leak. Odds are you may have some medium size fabric piece in there, and is likely is the blockage. This is where the water seems to drain from the detergent compartmemt to the Drum.

My front loader gas Duet dryer has left brownish stains

Sounds like bad drum seals. Check all the way around the drum at the wall for sections of seals missing or an uneven gap around the drum at the wall.

Hope this helps.

Large inside rubber seal torn for the third time

new boot or "bellow" is $116 and you could do it yourself. some older front loaders had this problem. the larger the gap opening to its lower trench the more it collects. would not recommend tranditional top loader as these are being phased out. if you must buy a new machine- recommend other than whirlpool, front load (buy GE, or LG)

Whirlpool duet front loader washer-leaks into washer when not in use

Yes, but if something gets into the valve it may prevent it from sealing correctly. Unfortunately these valves are all molded plastic around the seal, so there is no way to repair it. You'll have to replace the fill valve.

If I replace my bellow seal in my front loader will it leak?

It will not leak if you install it correctly. Click on the following link for step-by-step instructions on how to replace a door bellow:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385211-replacing_door_bellow_whirlpool_duet

Inspect the new bellow PRIOR to beginning installation. Make sure the inner clamp that attaches to the wash tub is snug and not overtight. Also, make sure the rubber on the bellow that fits over the dispenser tube in the door area is installed past the flange (raised area on the tube). These are the common points that leak. Please let me know if you need further assistance. I hope this helps you.
