Karcher k1 leaking from inside casing.

Karcher k1 used once to clean block paving. Came to use 2nd time and now leaks lots of water from inside the casing near the top end of the pump.
Pump runs but not getting high pressure any more.

Have the seals gone already??

Thanks
J

The most likely issue, which seems to occur alot with karcher, is a cracked water pump. What happens is that as you release the trigger on the handle, the rise in pressure should cut off the motor, but as it also cuts off the water flow at the wand end and the motor spins a few more revs until it stops, then there is a huge pressure glitch which blows apart the weak plastic pumps that they use. Since the plastic cracks it is very difficult to repair and the only option is to go and buy another. BUT...this time tape up the trigger on the handle so it is always on and then it won't blow itself up. Just use the unit on/off switch to turn the motor on and off.

SOURCE: pump leaks not to much pressure and when i you the prime pump

Hello rr61
If the pump is leaking you will not get pressure. You need to get the leak fixed. Where is it leaking from?
Leaning back to star and run sounds like the motor oil is low. You are "tricking " the low oil sensor. I would change the oil and be sure it has the correct amount.

Hello Sue, you don't say where in the world you live, but if you are attempting to clean dirt and algae off pavers, you need to add a solution to the water jet via the inbuilt attachment. Mix a fairly mild solution of bleach and detergent, pus a dash or deodoriser to the cantainer. Put your karcher on low pressure and give all the blocks a good wetting. Do this in the morning so the solution doesn't dry. After 20 ~30 mins, Claen off with the Karcher on normal high pressure (not the tubo lance). HINT: Leave the trigger on all the time and don't stop and start using it. This will prevent hayraulic hammer which can split the pump head.

SOURCE: Karcher K2.26M water leak

I have the same Problem, the leak is from the seam of the Manifold housing. There is a small crack in the seam. A manufacturing defect.. A New Manifold Complete Replacement K2.26* Part # 97501760 is $61.03, about the half the price what I paid for this pressure washer at Walmart... :( If under 1 year old, and you can find a receipt,Karcher will replace the whole Pressure washer under warranty.

Water coming Inside car from behind heater

The heater coil is leaking, or more likely, the hose connections to the coil in the engine bay are bad. Hoses need to be replaced, most likely. At least that's the first place I'd look.

Hi i have a karcher k4.91 and it is lossing pressure and leaking from inside the casing..what would be the likely cause.. many thanks

This could be a problem in the pump, the seals may have been damaged if it is an older machine through age. You could check a local karcher supplier/dealer and they should be able to replace that for you. Another problem maybe that an inlet elbow could be loose and does not seal correctly so it may need replacing.

These solutions depend on what area inside the machine the water is leaking from.

hi you will have a 8 digit number on a silver plate on the machine with a number like 1.141-470.0
Then go to www.karcher.com then on the left click on Europe, then you will see International,on the left again you will see service click on that, then click on spare parts. you will see a box to enter the model or better still the 8 digit number. then tick on, i am aware parts should be fited by a trained enginner, always choose the largest pdf file, parts always same number in all countrys. hope that will help.

Pressure washer that leaks oil through the air breather

Most likely your air filter is plugged or dirty, or the crank case vent valve needs to be cleaned.if it still does it check that the oil level is at the full mark, if overfilled it would cause the same problem.

Leaking Water shorts out machine

I had the same problem. What may be the problem is the tiny water drip hole that feeds the drip tray is blocked with coffee sludge. Open the machine and remove the dump bucket, drip tray, and the brew group. Behind the brew group is a flat plastic piece which has a small drip hole at the bottom of it. This may be blocked which causes the water that should go into the drip tray to build up and overflow inside the machine running onto the countertop. Clean out the area behind the little drip hole and the hole itself. This should cure it.
