I can't put videos on my **** Smith A5146 8GB mp3 player. When I convert the videos to avi (which is only what the player supports) they will sometimes play on the computer. If they do, when i put on my player and try to play it a message reading 'Unsupported File!' appears and it won't play.
The videos will only work if their the size of the screen. The player should come with the video shrinker?
Yes the videos will only work if you shrink the length and width of your video size. 220 / 176. I downloaded prism video file converter (free download) it works way faster than the supplied one.
Prism lets you set - output options, encoder options and the video options lets you shrink or enlarge video size and set it to the desired frame rate.
Hope this helps too!

You can use a program such as DVDFab which will allow you to create an appropriate Profile for the device. The A5146 requires video to be at 220x176, in AVI DIVX or XVID format and have a frame rate of 30fps. DVDFab provides a downloadable profile editor which will let you create a custom profile to solve your problem.
