You may have to get another ps3 controller the battery in the inside might have smashed because of throwing it on the ground or just breaking it.

At the back top of the remote behind the 4 red lights there is a tiny pin-hole. With your PS3 on, press the big PS button on your remote, then push the button inside this little hole; a pencil lead may work. This is the only time you need to do this.

your LI ion battery in the ps3 controller is dead or has a short circuit...controllers are 30 from ebay

You Should Try And Hold The Center Button On Your Controller See What It Does, Turn Your Ps3 On Manually And Plug It In With The Usb Cord Then Try To Turn It On If It Still Does Not Turn You Should Leave It On For A While

Hello.

First check batteries - charging level and if they are plugged in correctly.

After you manage to turn on the controller, you have to connect it with a mini usb cable to the console in order for it to Sync.

Gioteck vx1 wireless controller will not pair up to my ps3
This works: Turn ps3 on. Plug the controller into the usb cable and into ps3. Then plug the dongle into other usb port. After a short time the dongle will flash quickly (this means it's in pairing mode - when the dongle flashes slowly it's too late). Press the PS/Home button as soon as you see the dongle fast flashing. All the LED's on the controller will begin to flash and after a short time one (or two) will remain solid. Immediately disconnect the charging usb lead from the controller and again the LED's will flash, push the PS/Home button again and after a short time one or two will remain solid. The controller should now be working. If the controller fails to respond repeat this process but make sure that you disconnect the dongle and reinsert (so you can see the fast flashing lights and try again).

My remote will not turn on unless i put it on charge but then it still wont connect
I had the exact same problem, but ive solved it...all you need to do, is to turn off the ps3(turn it off with your remote)...and turn it back on while using the ps3 button on the controller...It worked for me, hope it works for u 2:)...enjoy:)

mine sometimes does that, just try pushing and holding it until the options come up on the screen, then turn off controller. Then try turning it back on. If that doesn't work, turn the ps3 off when its done charging, then unplug it while its off. This should work.

Powers on, Controller wont connect, nothing shows up
switch the hard switch off in the back of the ps3. unplug power cord... press and hold power button located on the front f the ps3 for approx 10 secs, then let it sit for a few, then hook it back up and turn the hard switch back on and try to power it back up.

I have had this happen once before but it did return to normal.

IT just sounds like the ps3 controller is bad.. check out ebay and get a new one at 25$ I know it sounds crazy but some of the controllers just ****.. the first 3 ps3s I got on launch day were great except 2 of the controllers never worked..
