Make sure you didn't accidentally hit or tap the wireless button as that shuts off all internet connecting abilities.

I can'tload Web pages but wifi is on. Am using windows 8. What can I do to solve the priblem

There is a difference between Wi-Fi being on and Wi-Fi being connected. In Settings you can turn on Wi-Fi. All this does is turn on the Wi-Fi radio receiver.

With the receiver turned on you should then be able to view a list of Wi-Fi routers. You will probably see a little lock towards the bottom of the virtual radio signal symbol. These locked Wi-Fi stations cannot be connected to unless you have the right password to log onto them. Most people these days have secured their Wi-Fi routers so unauthorized folks cannot use them.

If you are using your own home router or wireless hotspot from a telecom, you will still have to select it from the list of Wi-Fi routers shown and click connect. If you haven't already entered a password, you will have to enter one.

This can all be done from them Charms menu that slides out on the right. Click Settings and Wi-Fi available.

Where can I get free internet for lap top hp

I do not believe you can get free internet for laptop unless you are using a public wi-fi service. If your laptop has got a wireless interface then you can scan for available wi-fi networks and then select an unsecured one with the most strong signal. Some public wi-fi hot spots give you a temporary code to use. Make sure you have a strong virus protections software when you use free internet and try not to use it for banking services unless you have a very secure banking website with encryption keys and devices.

Unstable connection

ome wireless networks based on the 802.11b or 802.11g standards transmit their signal in a narrow radio frequency range of 2.4 GHz. Various other electronic devices in a home, such as cordless phones, garage door openers, baby monitors, and microwave ovens, may use this same frequency range. Any such device can interfere with a Wi-FI home network, slowing down its performance and potentially breaking network connections.
The 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal range is divided into a number of smaller bands or "channels," similar to television channels. Many wireless products ship with a default Wi-Fi channel of 6. If encountering interference from other devices within the home, consider changing the channel up or down to avoid it. Some Wi-Fi channel numbers overlap with each other. Channel 1 uses the lowest frequency band and each subsequent channel increases the frequency slightly. Therefore, the further apart two channel numbers are, the less the degree of overlap and likelihood of interference.
If this won't work, Then consider buying a new wireless router as your current is deemed broken.
