Hi My canon 370 MP Photo printer is flashing check printer, this is after I have taken it apart to clean out the ink tank overflow, as that was flashing before, how do I try top reset this printer.
thanks Sue
Hello. this message indicates that the computer merely has to be reset [canon is hoping you will take your printer to them for a costly tuneup] here are the steps to reset your counter:
Manual Reset procedure for waste ink tank full error in Canon Smartbase MP730 printers:
Hit the “menu”: Key
Hit “Copy” Key
Hit “#” Key
Scroll thru the menu headings until you come to “Test Mode” - 12th heading
Hit the “3′ button- this will bring up Eeprom Clear
The POWER Lamp Flashes Orange
Eight flashes: Waste ink tank almost full
The printer has a built-in waste ink tank for the ink used
during print head cleaning. Eight flashes indicates that the waste ink tank is
nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the
error so you can continue printing. Before the waste ink tank becomes completely
full, contact a Canon service representative.
Note
Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this
error occurs. Once the waste ink tank becomes completely full, printing will no
longer be possible.
Part are end life cycle : waste ink pad full. Need to reset waste ink counter. SSc ver 4.3 support RX 620 and 640. U can try using printer model RX 640. Menu Protection Counter, Show current value for checking. Reset protection counter. Or Try to find RX630 adjusment at indoreset,blogspot.com. Don't forget to replace or wash the pad. Or extend outlet waste ink pipe to outside.
being that it is only 3 months old i would have it serviced under the manufacturer warranty. 1-800-OK-CANON call that number and you can locate the nearest authorized service center and the service will be covered. If you still need assistance let me know. Please take a moment to accept and rate my original solution as I strive to provide fast and accurate service. Thanks, Lee
It seem that the error message is caused by non-user replaceable parts which refer to ink pads. This ink pads is a porous material that used as ink tanks for waste ink when printer is turning on and head cleaning. The best solution that we can advice is to send the printer to nearest service center in your area, probably authorized by your printer manufacturer, and if your printer manufacturer has ink pad reset utility tool you can run it to reset the ink pad counter to zero.
I had the same problem -- error message saying two cyan print tanks installed. Nothing helped (including disconnecting power cord). Then found I had an older cyan print tank still in its pack on hand, Installed that. No further problems. Assume this means print tank giving error is part of a faulty batch so am returning to retailer for refund from Canon.
